he wasn't really that mad considering that he knew it was his fault, but he was kinda ticked that i got off a little bit better than he did. Thank god Toyota builds 4runners better than they build Priuses.

Since XJs have such poor grounding to begin with, he probably needs that strap to accommodate the extra brake lighting. But, your right, he might need to consider additional straps.
