This weekend I went to the SFWDA meet and ride in Alabama at Choccolocco Mountain off road park. We had some great weather for the weekend! Little cold at night for some ha! I rode along with the easy group seeing as I had never been to an off road park before.
Was able to take some pictures of other vehicles in the group but didn't get any of mine really. Here's a few that came out nice. May post more once I get a chance to go through all of what I took.
And then a couple pictures of my vehicle that one of the other riders in our group took.

Had my SCS SR8s installed this morning at Discount Tire. They gave me a scare for a second saying the lug nut set was one short. Come to find out it was still in the bottom of the bag the lug nuts came in. Silly techs. I probably spent two months trying to decide on the perfect wheels. The last two weeks of that it came down to trying to decide between the SCS Stealth 6 or the SR8s. Eventually the SR8s won me over because they were two-tone. Didn't really want solid black or solid gunmetal wheels. I felt the two tone would be perfect for the Mag Gray 4Runner. After installing them, I don't think I could be happier! Now though I'm starting to think the new wheels are making the stock size Cooper tires look small.

wheels look excellent! Two tone is the way to go. All those solid black wheels are boring

New wheels look great. Been leaning towards those myself. Seeing these photos may just have been the clincher I needed to make up my mind ;-)

Finally found time today to install the dif breather mod. I originally installed it just in the jack compartment but decided I was being lazy and then moved it outside to where the fuel fill cap is. I like it much better this way not worrying if I will or won't ever have smells coming into the cabin from my dif. I did run into one slight issue. I originally pulled and drilled the wrong hole plug and am now faced with trying to figure out the part number(since right where I drilled it was the part number) so I can order a replacement. The last of these four pictures shows the wrong hole plug I pulled if anyone if a part # wiz and could help me out that would be much appreciated! Its slightly smaller than the correct hole plug you are supposed to pull which is part # 90950-01958 if that helps any.

Recieved my C4 Fabrication Rock Sliders way back on Monday 12/7 but I was out of the country all week. Plan was this weekend to get them painted on Saturday. Let them cure overnight and install them about mid day on Sunday. Everything went to plan and was easy as could be.
Bare steel sliders after being cleaned with mineral spirits.

Here is the Rust-Oleum Self Etching metal primer I used. Three cans total of this got me two good full coats on each slider.
After two coats of primer. Ready for some topcoats. Can't tell in the picture but it goes on kind of an olive drab green color which makes it easy to tell where you have already sprayed compared to a gray primer.
And you always have to give some credit where credit is due! #C4 Fabrications with the excellent work.
Used good old Rust-Oleum Profesional High Performance Enamel Flat Black spray paint in the big can for my final coats. Four cans total of this stuff netted me three full coats on each slider with just a little left over for touch ups.
First topcoat of flat black in the works.
Finished after three top coats of flat black.
Then on Sunday I was able to get the sliders installed. This was tricky though as my buddies were tied up till later in the day and my wife had recently hurt her back. So being impatient after waiting all week, I figured I would just install them by myself but I would have to devise a way to do so. It was actually pretty easy using just three jack stands. I placed one at either end of the slider under the support square tubes and one under the outermost round tube. Then I just walked them slowly under the body of the car. Once they were under the car it was easy to lift the jack stands one at a time until the sliders were just about at the right height. Then install the four corner bolts, remove the jack stands and you are then free to install the rest of the needed attachment bolts.

ALL DONE! Nice close up!
Man they look good! These things are beefy and I don't doubt they will hold up to anything you could throw at them.

Got tired of my stock size Cooper AT3s and have been itching to upgrade to 33s ever since installing my lift. Got a crazy good deal on some 285/70r17 Cooper S/T MAXXs so I went ahead and ordered a set of 5. Hope to have them here and installed by the end of the weekend.
If anyone is interested I'll be selling my 265/70r17 P rated AT3s which have roughly only 10k miles on them.

On another note I got a Midland 75-822 CB radio for Christmas. So I jumped in on the Flat Iron Fabrication's group buy for 5th gen rear bumper CB antenna mounts. Hopefully they'll have everything buttoned up soon and be shipping orders. Planing to pair it with a 3' or 4' Firefly antenna.

i'm thinking about the same CB Midland 75-822, let me know how you like it.
I was considering the Uniden 520xl or the Uniden bearcat 880/980. I like the portability of the Midland hoping it's as clear and good as the other two. I briefly checked out the CB mounts but don't see a good pix of the mounts. what's the benefit vs the Diamond k400 mounts?

Ive read a couple rust issues with the K400 mount but then there are others that have zero issues. As for the Midland 75-822 so far its only good for car to car communication on the trail in tight groups with the handheld antenna used inside a vehicle. The external antenna should greatly change that. I picked it because its the easiest least invasive install and could be easily moved from car to car if needed be.

This past Monday, a week ago, I got the green light to finally order my 33s. No I hadn't worn out my Coopers yet. Though since I had lifted the vehicle something about the 265s just didn't look right. So This past Monday I called up DTD and haggled a great deal on the S/T MAXXs in 285. I had been wanting to go with the KO2s but had read a lot of good stuff about the S/T MAXXs and figued I'd give them a try. I was originally looking at them in the 255/80r17 size but they were back ordered with an unknown delivery date so I settled on the 285/70r17. Well the tires arrived Wednesday, the 30th, morning and I was at DT later that day to have them installed. I have to say I am really happy with the look and ride of the tires for being so aggressive. I have yet to be able to test their traction though. I'll update that later. For now here is one picture I snapped with my phone and I will try and get more up later.

I bet, we didn't get quite as much snow here in Nolensville, about 4-5inches,as just as close as say Nashville which got about 9+inches. The pictures I took were at the top of a quite steep snow covered grassy hill. And the Runner just charged up it.
