Finally found time today to install the dif breather mod. I originally installed it just in the jack compartment but decided I was being lazy and then moved it outside to where the fuel fill cap is. I like it much better this way not worrying if I will or won't ever have smells coming into the cabin from my dif. I did run into one slight issue. I originally pulled and drilled the wrong hole plug and am now faced with trying to figure out the part number(since right where I drilled it was the part number) so I can order a replacement. The last of these four pictures shows the wrong hole plug I pulled if anyone if a part # wiz and could help me out that would be much appreciated! Its slightly smaller than the correct hole plug you are supposed to pull which is part # 90950-01958 if that helps any.

Yeah, that weekend was actually a record snow here in Nashville TN. 8.2 inches which is the most snow we've had since 88 I believe it was. Doesn't look like much on top of that hill. Probably 4-5 inches. Fun times. I'm headed out to Colorado in early April for a friend's wedding. Sadly though I'm flying.

Lift

Got the RTT up on the roof of Riley today for a test fit with the help of a buddy. Looks like I am going to be designing a hoist system under my deck to make mounting and removing a one man job. Hopefully testing out the RTT overnight tonight.

Great build! Not sure if you ever built your hoist, but I just installed a Racor lift. $100 ant it works great.

Thanks for the info. I looked at that lift and while I really liked it it would leave em enough clearance with the height of my deck and wouldn't have been able to mount it well. I ended up making a hoist out of a cheap amazon block and tackle with a couple ratchet straps. I think I had maybe $70 in the whole hoist setup and it works great.

I like how you focused on function ( which also has some really nice associated form), and you didn't obsess about plastidip, badging, exterior plastic bits, etc. I actually prefer the fewer plastic trim bits on an sr5- it looks simpler, cleaner and better IMO. I wouldn't change a thing! Nice job.

Thanks for the compliments. I did do some plasti dip on a few emblems but its not something I drone on about or even mention. But function is my main goal. I'll upgrade it as I go and upgrade it to suit the kind of situations I find myself in. So far its plenty capable.

I did however have a small issue this past weekend with the rear end sagging a little under the camping load I had packed in the rear so I ordered up some OME 2898 to replace the Radflo 2" lift coils I have currently. Hope they won't be too stiff when not loaded.

Also I posted my CB install elsewhere on this forum but never copied it over to here.

I got the K400 bare mount from Universal-radio.Com for $43.90 shipped to my door. Other than that I was originally in the group buy for the mount that was supposed to be like the 3rd gen cb mounts by the taillight. But when that design changed I settled on the k400. I had already purchased a firestik firering 18' cable and I used that but it wasnt the best option. I'd suggest at least an 18' cable and use a standard stud mount. I placed the k400 very low on the door/hatch and had to grind off some of the tab that sticks out so it wouldn't hit the bumper. For reference thats a 4' firestik firefly antenna with QD attachment.

Did a few upgrades this weekend. Installed new OME 898 rear springs to handle my overlanding load. The older Radflo 2" lift coils just went up to the task. Also gained back my factory rake.

Second upgrade for the weekend was an Eezi-Awn 2M Shade Awning my wife got me for my birthday! Gonna be great for camping!

Any rubbing issues? If so how were they addressed?

No rubbing issue at all. I had previously removed the front mud flaps and pushed the fender wheel wells forward with a slight trimming of the bumper there. I do have a slight squeak in the front driver side suspension that I haven't pinpoint yet. Happens when it really has to articulate. I greased the bushings and ball joint on the upper A arms but that didn't fix it. So I'm kinda leaning towards it being the sway bar possibly

Is that a rover in the background? Bolt pattern looks right and I could swear that's a rover style radius arm bushing..
