Sub & Amp setup..mine is blown

Hey guys, about a 3 months ago I got a 12inch MTX subwoofer and amp installed. Then about a month ago the sub cut and the amp started smoking. my buddy helped me out so i could find if they were both totally done and it turned out they were.

Questions:
Brand of subwoofer and model?
Brand of amp and model?
How much did you pay for both?
Where did you buy them?

I think you need to first figure out how much you want to pay, how much space you want to take up, and how loud you want it to be.

Well i idealy would want a JL audio stealth box but I still have my box that I used for my 12inch sub that i blew. The box was angled and didnt take up too much space. I really would only want to put about 300-400 because Im already down 300.

Does that need to include install too? With that price range I think you should stick to a single sub.

It doesnt have to be crazy but anything will sound better than stock.

dont go with brand that can be sold at best buy and stores like that then... All ur paying for is name recognition and theyre not as good on the SPL and clarity level. I have 2 12" FI subs and would take those any day over my old MTX and all the subs my friend's used to have (Kicker L5-L7, JL Audio W0-W7, etc)

My friend has one 15" FI BTL and that thing is the loudest sub ive heard. Just saying taht u should check out some underground brands... like FI, DD, RD audio, elemental designs, etc.

How about an Alpine Type R, Alpine Type X, JL Audio W3, Rockford Fosgate P2, FI SSD, or FI IB?

For an amp there are a lot of choices too. You probably want something that does 500-900 RMS. Kenwood KAC-9104D, Alpine 500, or Hifonics BXI 1201D.
