Well I was having p0420 and p0171 for quite some time and I was throwing seafoam and chevron at it. I checked and cleaned everything to no avail. Spark plugs fine, maf fine, air filter fine, and the other culprits were also not the issue. I was checking these for the p0171 since the p0420 was probably my cats or slim chance my o2s. I say slim chance because their only 8 months/7k miles ol and are oem. So anyway I tried out the 3m total fuel system cleaning kit for 22 bucks and what the hell it worked! I got back all my power, no hesitation, no chugging, absolutely no vibration at all, better start, quieter, and even seems to better on fuel consumption. I can't say if this is a permanent fix but at 2 weeks(almost 3) I'll say I'm pretty hopeful. When I first started the cleaning the engine almost began to stall with the product but then it evened out and I started to feel and hear the difference after about 5 minutes. The hesitation and the lack of acceleration started to go away. I didn't drive it for the recommended half a tank worth but instead drove it for 5 miles. And it was great. Now after driving it for about 1k miles I can confidently say I'm satisfied and shocked by the effect. I'm not promoting this product at all but I was researching and some people had this problem becoming persistent and I was getting tired of clearing the codes constantly since I didn't always want my obd2 meter hooked up to constantly check for my additional cels. Anyway, I myself recommend this product if anybody's been wondering if it actually works or has had this problem and has yet to try this.
Next step since everything internally is great is to fix my dreaded interior. (Glue everywhere from the previous wood trim I peeled off, I ordered some carbon fiber trim kit!)
