Suggestions for a saggy rear.....

On the 4runner that is. :naughty:

I've got the Bilstein 5100s with I think the toytec superflex coils. The rear is sagging about 2-2.5 inches, with the weight of the bumper/295 spare/arb drawers, its very noticeable while driving and just looking at it.

Any suggestions to how to fix this? I was thinking of replacing the 5100 with 5160s and using the OME 895s. Does anyone make a heavy duty 2in+ coil?

Higher rate springs. I'm not sure what the rate is of the factory or the SuperFlex's are so I can't help you there. However, an extra 50 lbs should be more than enough, 25 lbs might do the job. I went with +50 on the front with my ICONs to allow for weight of the SW bumper, winch, compressor and dual battery and it added almost 2" in addition to the 2" the lift gives me (ie, 4" total).

Try the all pro 3.5s. Pretty sure that is what Mikey used to remedy his butt sag after he got his rear bumper.

You're running too soft of a spring rate for the additional weight you now have with the bumper, rear mounted fridge/storage, etc. Upgrade to heavier weight springs, such as the OME 895. Also the Bilsteins you're currently running in the OME kit aren't much of a help, they're more of a stock replacement than a performance shock. Try 5160 or the Icon 2.0 replacements.

Alrighty, talked to Mikey, I think I'm going to try the all pro 3.5s & while I'm at it, swap out the 5100s and throw some 5160s in there. Thanks all for the help!

I'm in the same boat. That hog of a rear bumper plus the 33" spare hung off the back sagged my 2" Icon springs down about an inch from where they originally were. I am thinking the 3.5" All Pro's will be about perfect. I was going to go the airbag route but it seems like more of a "bandaid" fix, perfect for someone who tows or occasionally has theyr truck loaded down heavy, but were heavy alllllll the time!:trophy:

I was on a trail with a guy driving a 4th gen on airbags. Deep into the trail he tore one of them. It ended up being a pretty harsh ride out for him and that week he took them out and put in heavier springs instead.

With my rear bumper and drawers with all the goodies in it I decided on the All-Pro's 3.5" coils and have been very happy with the ride and height I gained back.

The 5160's won't do much for your ride height. They have the same valving and tube length as the 5100. the advantage of a piggyback is greater heat disapation and therefore less fade under harsh usage. You definitely need a stiffer spring, the ome 889's have treated me well, though i don't run with nearly as much.... errr... junk in the trunk road as you do, the 895's would be more appropriate for sure.

I would just weigh your truck and call up Deaver and get some custom coils. That way they're exactly what you need for your application.

I was about to say, one of those new grand cherokees was stuck in the woods cause it tore an airbag.

I think the 3.5s will suffice. Especially with the amount of crap I'm taking to moab/summit this year.
