Suma Performance Side Mirrors

I just installed a set of Suma Performance mirrors with defrost and turn indicator (clear not blue). Very easy install if you watch a video on removing the cover and mirror glass. 1st one took 15 minutes the next took 5 minutes. They are awesome. If you have the turn indicator built into the mirror like me the pink wire goes to the black/white wire on the mirror and the white wire goes to the black on the mirror. When you connect the longer set of wires to the mirror be sure to slide the soft rubber on the connector back to expose the metal connectors and make sure it snaps in all the way, then just slide the rubber cover back in place. PS Thats not shrink tube, just soft rubber. If you want shrink tube youll have to provide it. You'll understand if you install these.

I will say after driving around for a few hours today and this evening it may take awhile to get used to these mirrors. I really like the turn signals but it is hard to get used to the drivers side view. When you take a quick look its hard to focus that quick, may be my eyesight because im 60 or may be my progressive lens. Not ready to give up but will update in a few days. May have to go with the Rav 4 mirrors instead but I want to keep the turn leds....

i complained for this same issue, not just you. i'm in my 30's. i have the suma on my raptor and the covex isn't as crazy to the point i can't adjust. the suma on the 4runner have way too much convex for some people.

It does take some getting used to the driver side convex mirror. Don’t rely on it exclusively when pulling into a left lane on a multi lane highway. Remember that “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear”.

BTW, full convex driver side mirrors are against the vehicle code in many states.

notice a crack in my main driver side housing mirror. What is the part number for the rav4 mirrors. Is it an upgrade, direct plug and play, etc?

That's the part number I have from Sparks Toyota for driver side.

I did both sides, and the side and it's definitely an upgrade. Plug and play with defroster and etc.

I'm not sure the pass side was worth the $45 now that I've had it about a year.

I'm getting used to them, like you say it is not only getting used to the focus but also the object is closer than you think. I cut a few cars off before I could judge the distance. I love no more blind spot and lovin the turn signals. I think I will keep them, the more I drive with them the more I get used to them.

I had the same problem with my work truck (two mirrors per side, convex mirror was almost as big as the main)

The guy who trained us taught it backwards - said the flat mirror was for blind spot and the convex for distance.

Once I got out on my own and adjusted everything for myself I now know why it felt so “wrong”, because it was!
