sun shades?

Anyone find a sun shade that...

#1 - fits
#2 - blocks out some decent heat

I just got my tint done yesterday, but even in the high 80's my black 4runner is heating up quickly. And in Texas 100's will be around the corner. Considered crystalline for the windshield, but $300 is steep.

Wondering if a good quality sun shade will suffice.

I have the one i got from the dealer specifically fit to the 4Runner's windshield. It fits perfect and keeps the inside cooler and hopefully helps prevent fading/cracking in the dash and interior.

I did just realize that WeatherTech has some. $49.

Pricey, but cheaper than crystalline.
Just wondering if there really is a difference between a $10 shade and a $50 shade.

Along with the heat shield sunshade, bought 2 generic windshield shades from amazon at $8 each. Created a cardboard template for the driver side and passenger side door glass. Cut the amazon shades using the cardboard templates. Works great as added shade from the SoCal sun in the summer.

I have this on all of my cars and cars in the past. Only the 4runner is short about 2 inches on each side. I do see why it was designed the way it is, it would be troublesome to put on if it is longer. That said, the construction is good and does block a lot of heat.

You can't beat the SUN SHIELD brand, they are made vehicle specific and they really fit well, cover every square inch of the windshield and really reflect sun rays well. Any more questions PM me.

I’d go with Crystaline. I had my entire truck and our Benz done with it. If you can get away with it, do the 60% on the windshield. I had 90%, but you can still feel a bit of the heat come through compared to the 40% I have on the sides. Really amazing stuff! Buy once cry once!

Looking the Heat Shield may be the way to go.
Got quoted $299 to do Crystalline on my windshield, but for $40 I can give the Heat Shield a go.

The WeatherTech seemed intriguing with also claiming to keep warmth in during the cold days. But I have a premium, so seat warmers it is (for the 2 days we get cold enough in Texas).
