Sunday is finally going to be lift day

Well hopefully all the cards will fall into place . Another member dreadog is coming to help me so we both can learn what we are doing , since he is going to be getting his 4th gen. and we'll probably do that one also at some point.

Not exactly sure what the game plan is , but so far it's pulling off Xreas and replacing it with FJ springs at all 4 corners and shocks/co's front with a 1" CF spacer in front. not exactly sure if I will like the height . I'm shooting for a 2/1 (I also have a new daystar I could supplement and put a 2" front topout spacer in and the 1.5 rear spacer in so we will see.)

I worked on it with dreadog for quite a while and although we were able to learn alot , it was just a pain , but I would attempt it again. I ended up taking it to my friend Mike's shop . So it was up in the air and disconnected the Xreas for him and he did the rest and installed all new brakes at the same time and alignment . Nick (dreadog) and I worked on it for quite a while , using the spring compressor I know now is not my bag !! Nothing happened I just dont trust that shit. It was a learning experience .

So I am now running full FJ suspension ( no more Xreas ) and a 1" CF spacer in front , did not gain alot of height but atleast the low front end is gone . Drives like a dream , I like this suspension better than the Xreas (although the FJ stuff is new and my xreas had 65 K on it) The new stuff is stiffer , but not crappy riding . I have no more body roll than what I had before under normal driving conditions . I need to get my FJ rims on yet . So Im ok with everything .................. for now. LOL

I need to adjust my headlights so I'll have to do a search so I know where adjusting screw is .

On the back of the headlight housing, there is a 10mm bolt (or maybe it's 8mm?). One direction raises the beam, the other lowers it. Just pop the hood and look on the back of the housing, you'll see it. It's a ridged circle about the size of a quarter with the 10mm head in the center of it.

I could not leaved well enough to the headlights. After I posted here I was out on my road at 1am adjusting them....lol. Also re-adjusted the foglights on the Escape. Thanks for the info Josh on the HL's , I found it in a quick search and wanted it done.

Yes we will see how the slight offset changes handling. I was really worried it was going to come out all floaty and stuff with removing Xreas .... not so at all.

Congrats!!! I know you have put a lot of thought into this (do the same myself) and glad to see you got it done. Since you have the V8 as well I'd like to see the numbers in regards to lift height. :cheers:
