The aftermarket sunroof deflector has two clips that hooks under the sheetmetal edge towards the outer front opening on the sunroof where the glass and sheetmetal meet. The only reasons I think anyone would need it is if you like the looks of it or if you have an aftermarket basket/rack on your 4R and want to reduce the wind noise by deflecting more air over the basket.
MicaBlue03 said:abin, the wind deflector does adjust according to vehicle speed (and sunroof opening too). There are two positions and a motor to make the adjustment. I believe the specifics are somewhere in the operator's manual.
I will check it out by driving with various speed and see if I can tell it is whisper of wind in the pines or sound of motor.24runners said:I was going to say the same thing
I had no idea what I was hearing the first time I went fast enough with the sunroof open for it to adjust the deflector...i was thinking *what is this motor-like noise?* haha
If you hear something that sounds like a CD changer, then that's the sunroof visor.abin said:I will check it out by driving with various speed and see if I can tell it is whisper of wind in the pines or sound of motor.
