Yep, that game. Like I said, so many of his great things don't come up on paper. Statistically, horrible game. But we were in control of that game for the vast majority of it. We pounded the ball and he did what he did to no make any huge mistakes that would have turned the tides. Yes, it came close down to the end, but that was more due to Golden botching the onside kick and not on Russell.

Agreed. Light wind and snow can actually open up the passing game. Makes it easier for the receivers to get separation and also harder for the lineman to get a good push on the rush.

Broncos were ranked #2 and the Hawks were at 8th for total ypg and against the run in the playoffs the Broncos are giving up 66 ypg rushing and the Hawks 134 ypg in their 2 postseason games repectively. Denver's is playing quite well as of late.

What's interesting to me is that we have 3 different runners with different strengths (apparently 4 if you count Green... lol) and all of them have big play ability. I guess learning not to rely 100% on Moreno over the years is really paying off.

Yeah, but again, statistics only show one side of the coin. Say in the 49er game, most of those yards came from a couple plays were Kaepernick was able to get free and those were in the first half. We shut his running down in the 2nd and held Gore to only 16 yards in the entire game. Both games Denver played, they got a good lead early, so the teams had to lean more to the pass to try and catchup.
I will say that Moreno (as well as the other rb's) don't get enough credit or attention because so much of the focus is around Peyton. It's going to be just as important to keep them under control as well as Peyton.
That's why I love this matchup. I'm definitely not trying to say that we're going to shut Denver down and dominate this game. I think it's going to be a hard battle as long as Denver doesn't get out to a super fast start. A turnover or two in the first would be so costly. I like our D against Denver because we don't need to blitz or stack the box in order to get pressure or stop the run. Every spot is pretty solid, so if the guys do their jobs, there's bodies all over the field. I think teams get into trouble when they have to lean towards one side or the other and then Peyton just picks them apart.

Seems like most of us are generally confident in our teams. Are there any Broncos/Seahawks fans that are not confident? It would be interesting to get that perspective. I am really excited for this matchup.

I have a nervous confidence since the Broncos have been known to fall on their faces in big games and NFL history favors the defense but on the other hand this Broncos offense is the best in history and the last time a #1 offense faced a #1 defense was in SB 32 when the Broncos faced the Packers and won that game.
And no team in history has had this kind of receiving corp.
Now if I was a Seahawks fan I'd feel quite confident about my defense as a whole but I would have concerns about my offense especially Wilson's mediocre (34 QBR rating is worst among SB starters) play this last part of the season and if the Broncos make him one dimensional by taking away the run (both Seattle and Denver are good against the run) and making Russel win with his arm could be a problem if the Broncos play with a lead since he can't get into a shootout with Manning. If the Hawks do win Wilson will likely be the MVP since he'll have to play like it to win.
Win or lose I think those outside of the west will see two things from this team. 1, that our D is SO much more than one man and 2, there are things no stat can show with Russell Wilson.

Wilson is dangerous if he gets outside the pocket but I think the Broncos can contain him and make him throw and that's where that weak QBR could come into play.
I think its more on Seattle's LB's and Safeties than the corners. Manning has completed only 7 passes over 20yards in the playoffs. He dinks and dunks a lot so coverage underneath is going to be crucial for Seattle. Also stopping the Denver run is going to be crucial. I wont be surprised if Denver comes out running the ball a lot.
