Supercharger Install Question

So I got my supercharger on Monday($560 Shipped btw lol), did the install Tuesday, pulled it back off and changed the coupler on Wednesday and everything is running great now. Pulls hard and is right on par with the Youtube videos of other supercharged 3rd gens.

Neways, my question is this.

Is there a special way to run the transmission kickdown cable? It was a FIGHT to get it to reach the bracket that holds it and the throttle cable. I had to pull it out of its little "clip track on the drivers side" and basically pull it as far as it would go to get it to fit and there is NO slack at all.

If that's normal ok however I wouldn't think it should be that tight.

Any help is much appreciated.

Congratulations on the buy.

FYI, Our 4runners don't have kick down cables.

Remove from bracket on the side of the motor and Run the cable over the top.

Thanks for the info. So what is that cable then if the 4runner doesn't have a kick down cable? I ran it over the top of the SC but again it is VERY tight. I thought that cable was a kick down cable to tell the transmission where the throttle is at in order to help adjust the firmness and when to shift??

This is true. When the cable is pulled out, the shifts are harder. A kick down cable would force the transmission to kick down to a lower gear.

Since the motor and transmission are one unit, Tightness wouldn't matter because it wouldn't stretch as the engine moves around in its mounts. As long as the cable operated corrected and with no drag, you are gtg.

Got it off craigslist. It was in another state so I had a fellow t4r.org member check it out and ship it to me. Paid $500 for the SC and $60 for shipping. Came with everything except for a belt.

It is a great improvement over an N/A engine. Much quicker and it is great to zip around town with.

I think I just have a way of finding amazing deals.

I found my BRAND NEW IN THE BOX TRD Catback exhaust locally for $90, my Tundra rims for basically $150 (in great shape), My TRD supercharger kit for $500 and my Toyo 265/70/17" MT's with 80% tread for $300 for the set.

Plus I only paid $4100 for my runner with 2 owners and all the service records from day 1.

I love finding good deals. haha

If you can find a urd 7th injector and a pulley. You'll enjoy the supercharger more with better fuel management. Ooh and don't forget a wide band for tuning.

Ooh and if you find Trd headers they are a pita to instal
