Supercharger

Besides the gaskets and tensioner pulley do you need anything else to run the TRD Supercharger on the stock pulley? I know if you go over that you need the URD kit and a VB upgrade but as far as fuel is concerned do you need anything additional on a stock pulley?

This picture is showing to calibration/control modules are these required?

I remember there being a thread about everything you needed to install the supercharger. Ive looked through all the threads with supercharger in the title and I cant find it.

I can't believe someone paid close to $2100 for that thing. I find it amazing that the supercharger now can be worth up to half the value of the rig it is going in.

To the OP, I can't answer your question.

So you have not bought one yet?

If you haven't then don't bother is my opinion. Unless you tow a lot and plan on running 35s I doubt it is needed.

Running 32" tires, having done headers, K&N CAI and high flow exhaust z
... And having kept the weight down, I find that my rig is quite zippy.

If you can find a cheap one great. If it is your dream great but considering the drawbacks of adding a used SC to a high mileage vehicle .... Well I don't think it is worth the trouble and loads of cash.

I have a 18ft boat I tow a lot in the summer and plan on running 33's down the road. I just want to get my ducks in a row if I spot a good deal.

I have towed a 21ft cc before with no problem (not on 33s). As long as you have a tranny cooler, Tundra brakes, a working E-locker, and common sense, you should be fine.

What's with the SC hating? Most people generally tend to agree that while the 5VZ-FE is an excellent motor, it's a bit underpowered for the application it's in. I've read countless times from boosted guys commenting they couldn't imagine going back to NA.

I wish I had boost.
