Superman3043's Build Thread

The sport edition came with black interior. I wish my seat covers fit that well, but hey I only payed 46 for mine so I don't expect the best fit, quality is descent on mine.

Btw aha, that $15 for the RB is coming your way as soon as all these extra expenses go away!

Hmm really!? Good to know. I still don't know if the seat belts would be black in them though. My thought is that they had a charcoal interior with gray or stone seats and grey belts. I think I've seen some like dark gray cloth interior, but the belts and trim was still either gray. Oh and some have that dark gray faux "stone" inlay on the trim pieces. Oh well, like I said, the gray belts really don't bug me. I imagine swapping them out would be somewhat of a PITA as well. Maybe not.

Wow, those seat covers definitely were worth the wait. Love the look of them. The sliders look great too, nice work

Thank you sir! I'm enjoying them. Brought that leather interior smell to ride as well. Helps to mask the drooly bulldog smell :) I feel they were worth the wait as well, I'm just an impatient SOB though. Thanks again!

Mine are tan, but I want black leather with the Toyota logo and TRD stitched into it in red. Seat heaters and coolers would be a must.

Btw.. the lady says thanks for the rbs, she can actually get in now. She's just a short 4' 11" :D

Sounds good. Can you get aftermarket seat coolers? They're a good deal more involved than heaters.

Well you guys are both certainly welcome! Dang, thought MY wifey was short (5'2"-5'3"ish)!!! It was fun watching her climb in without the RB's. She used to grab the "Oh Sh*t Handle" and vault herself up. She's one of those prissy, girly-girl types, so seeing her do goofy stuff like this is always funny. Now she's got the sliders to mantle up on though.

Looks fantastic man! Two questions:

1. How do these feel compared to OEM leather? I think ours feels really cheap.

2. What color(s) are those, including your stitching.

Thanks Husker!

I've always thought that Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura leather is super cheap feeling. I'm partial to leather like the King Ranch Fords and new Overland Grand Cherokees have. That being said, these covers feel WAY better than the factory leather upholstery. My brother has an Infiniti M and I'd put them on par with that car as far as my initial thoughts on quality and feel. Way nicer in my opinion.

Mine are black outer with black perforated leather insert and "ivory" stitching.

Hope that helps. LMK if you got anything else.

Thats how she used to do it. They also keep the side a little cleaner.....

Idk if they make aftetmarket seat coolers but ill find a way.

Thank you very much! I agree with you on the feeling of leather, the difference between my wife's XC90 and my 4R is night and day.

Love the look of the ivory contrast, nice choice all around. Your 4R looks really, really nice man!

As far as the Clazzios go, do you think you lost any of the depth of the bucket seats? Does it still have decent side-bostering and hug you as well as it did before? I'd hate to lose the "bucket" part of bucket seats with seat covers.

Thx.

As far as the depth goes, I'd say no, I didn't lose any. To me, 4Runner seats don't really "hug" you like a bucket on a sports car, so that part really feels the same. Over the massive amount of seat time that I've logged in this truck, I'd say that the foam side bolstering has lost some of it's rigidity over time. Especially outside of the left cheek from climbing in and out. I'd say, they helped bring back a little of what I've lost. I could equate it to laying on a memory foam mattress compared to say a cot as an exaggerated example. It feels like any nice leather interior.. supportive and supple, yet still manages to be plush.

Anyway, to answer your question, I don't feel that the seat has lost any of it's supportive characteristics. If anything, it feels better. I will say that black leather compared to my cloth seats on a 100 degree day, is a pretty drastic change when you first get in. Still worth it though.

Hope that answers your question.

Seat covers look fantastic!! How much were they and from which site did you buy them from?

Thank you SilverGs! Looking around, these regularly go for $450. Got them for $390 SHIPPED from Sparks Toyota (TRDSparks.com). At first they charged me sales tax since they're in the same state as I'm in, but I had them ship across the border to my in-laws', so $390 was to my door. Found out about Sparks through forum members. When you place your order online, just mention that price and that you are a member of T4R.org in the comments to receive the discount. I had some back and forth communication with the sales team there throughout the transaction and they were good to go.

I'm still ecstatic with these. If you order, you will not be disappointed. Hope that answers your question. LMK if you've got any more.

Thanks for the clarifications.

I noticed that on Clazzio's site, you can even pick a "diamond quilt" pattern as well as being able to specify adding a logo to the headrest. Whereas on the trdsparks site, their order form does not give you those two choices. Perhaps its easier just to pick up the phone and call them about those two options?

Yeah, I noticed that on other sites there are a lot more available options than are available on Sparks' order form. For instance, I saw "white" stitching available others sites, which is what I would have preferred, but Sparks on gave me the option for "ivory". Not sure if they'd make any more options available to you if you were to call them, but definitely worth a shot.

Dude, I think those "diamond quilt" seats are HOT! I think I would have ordered them, but I sort of wanted leather and I think the diamond only come in PVC. The good news is though, if you had to order them from Clazzio's site, they'll probably be the same price or cheaper than Sparks' price on the leather.

Keep us posted on what you come up with.

You're right about the quilted pattern, its not leather. I didn't realize that till I noticed how the price dropped by $100. I prefer leather as well.

Did you get the seat heater option? It can get pretty cold in the winter up here and it might be worth getting that option.

No, I didn't opt for the heater option. For you it might definitely be worth considering in Canada. We don't really get cold winters here. The only use I'd get out of them is that one time a year that I get to go snowboarding. It's more like once every few years the older I get. Finding the time coupled with recent mild winters means no snowboarding for me :(

Sliders look good PD! A little shorter then I would like but i'm sure it's fine. Nice looking leather, I would like to add some black leather to mine with lime green stitching. Does the pushout cup holder and tray still work in the rear center fold down?
