Hey PD,
You need to delete the photos in your album and repost them. It was nice logging in today and seeing them on the home page of the forum! Sexy a$$ truck you have!
Haha! Thank you Ma'am! I'm not gonna do that, but how about we just keep building these gorgeous trucks up and posting into albums so that we always have 4th gens representing on the home page? I know I don't really use the album feature that much unless I need smaller pictures. It's just so much easier to dump them in the Photobucket album and embed them in the build thread.
Amazing! Those 12.5"s totally changed the look of your truck. Glad to hear you like the sound, for some its an acquired taste. Ha. I'm surprised you don't have anymore rubbing that what you've mentioned. Of course you will have new rubbing once you start flexing offroad but I figured you would have more on-road too. You mention it contacts the fender at 1/2 turn, does this imply that it rubs more in 1/2 than at full turn? I'm not sure how much offset your Rockstars have either but sounds like they have the "ideal" offset for those tires.
Thank you Sir! Yeah at certain glances I feel like the recent changes (tires, front suspension, sliders) only subtly changed the exterior appearance, but then at closer looks it's like "WOW, what a difference!" At least to those who know what they're looking at or for.
Yeah, I do get a kick out of the "NMG howl". It's music to us rednecks. Thank goodness I live around a lot of like-minded folks who love mud tires or I'd certainly be getting a lot more crazy looks driving down the road, haha.
I expected to do a lot more trimming than I've done as well. With my old tires, the only things I had to do was remove the front mud flaps, push the fender liner forward, and just barely trim the lower edge of the front edge of the front fender where it turns into the wheel well. Right now I've seen some new witness marks on the inner most portion of the rear edge of the front fender well (like where the body mount is), and some just a little higher up on the front lip (where I'd already trimmed). All of them are very minute.
Yes, the only time I've ever gotten any contact (with this or the previous set-up) is while backing up with the wheel cut at a certain angle (not full lock). It does fine at full lock traveling in either direction.
I'm gonna try to play with it and cycle it through and trim this evening when I'm changing my oil. I think my coil-overs have been saving me from a lot of scrubbing. I don't really know what rate these coils have, but they're STOUT. Let's just say that when I pick up the LCA, I don't see very much visible compression before the whole front end of the truck starts coming up. Don't get me wrong, it still rides great, but definitely stiffer than the old set-up. I do get a great amount of droop though. I guess these CO's being extended travel might have something to do with that.
I would say, you're right about "ideal" offset with this set-up when combined with the LR UCA camber adjustment let all the way out. It's basically tucked as tight to the spindle as it could comfortably be... Almost too close for comfort.
