The long uca bolt is 85 lbs tq. That is what I used, and the top nut on the control arms that is a 32mm socket nut 150 lbs tq
And holy SHEEP about your UCA bolt! It wasn't like that week end b4 last! Hope you got it straightend out? Now I am going to check mine.

Congrats on the kid. Our first will be here some time mid-late February. Check in to Britax for car seats, strollers, etc. My wife like to do research as much as I do and she said that they are the safest on the market. The car seat is also good from birth to like 4 years old - better to spend a little more money once than repeatedly.
The seat is cool too, it looks like a little Nascar seat.

Luckily I've got a lot of sources for guidance since I waited so late to have children, that everyone around me has already been there and are really helpful.

We're having a boy, Jack David. We waited a while too, I'll be 33 by the time he gets here and my wife is 30 (she'd kill me if she knew I posted that online)
But, he'll still be the first grandchild for both my parents and my in-laws. Luckily we've got a few friends that have had kids in the last year that can help us steer clear of things that are a "waste of money"
I also came across this awesome (but short) book, Crash Course For New Dads by Greg Bishop. It tells "us" what we need to know to be supportive and ready. It's a pretty easy and funny to boot.

That's awesome man! A boy! I (along with most men) want a boy so bad. My wife wants a girl of course. We won't find out for a few more weeks. I've heard stories of folks going early and being told girl and finding out later that it's a boy, so I don't want to take that risk.
You and I are around the same age then. I'll be turning 34 right around the time the baby comes. He's due July 25 and my birthday is the 17th. My wife is only 24 though, so she's still pretty young.
Ours will be the first grandchild as well. My wife is an only child and I've got a younger brother (31) that isn't interested in any children of his own, so I'm the only hope. It's a huge deal though and this baby has been a long time coming, as I'm sure you can relate since we're similar in age.
Thanks for the book link. I've been doing my learning thanks to an app and my wife has bought a few books. There literally is an app for EVERYTHING. Lol.

Yeah, I was pulling for a boy, so I got really excited when the Dr. confirmed my hopes. We (obviously) would have been happy either way, but we both wanted a boy (first). Even though the ultra sound showed "outdoor plumbing" they said they can't guarantee anything until he comes out.
A summer baby will be nice for your wife as she'll be able to wear some more comfy clothes while she is further along. My wife has been wearing all my hoodys and flannel pants to keep warm and comfy during these winter months. There were some people in our birthing classes talking about some apps, but I didn't hear which ones. Can you PM the one you use to me?
Looks like you guys are about half way there. For us, it went faster than I thought so I'm sure July will be here before you know it. It is exciting and daunting all at the same time. I'm sure you've gotten more unsolicited advice then ever before, but if you have any questions, I'll do my best to help.
Now, enough about our offspring, whats up next for the truck?

Jon it looks like you have the ball joint plate, the gold colored part that slides, installed backwards. You should have the SPC logo facing out to the tires. I am only concerned because I can see the boot of the joint. If I am wrong I apologize, but don't want a part to fail because of a bad install.

Hey Mike, Its just the angle of the photo that results in the engraved face of the ball joint plate being in the shadow. Thanks for noticing though.

Oh yeah, of course we'll be ecstatic regardless of what gender the baby is. But you know, everybody has a tendency to have a preference, even if it's slight. I think that you're right though. I prefer a boy for the first and then I'd love to have a little girl or whatever on the 2nd. That way the whole "carry the family name on" pressure is off and all, haha.
You bring up a good point on the summer baby thing. I'll try to throw that "spin" at her, because had it her way, she'd be skinny during bikini season and big when she has to bundle up anyway. I'll PM you with what info I got on apps and whatnot.
We're more like a 3rd of the way. You scared me when you said half, cause I was like "damn where did the time go??". Seems like we just found out yesterday. But you're right though; everything is going by SO fast. I appreciate all the advise man.
As far as the truck goes... I consider 2012 as a very aggressive build year for her. I've got nothing major planned for this year.... And when I say that, I mean I've got all sorts of major stuff planned, but I'm not gonna put myself on a timetable
Especially with a baby on the way, and we're gonna try to buy a house before he gets here, so build dollars are becoming more scarce by the day. If we can come out of 2013 with just a locker installed, I'll consider the year a build success. We're probably gonna buy the wife a baby hauler, still trying to sell her on a 5th gen T4R, and when that happens, I'll have her Honda as a DD and will be able to afford downtime on the 4R. Then I might try to do what I really want to do, which is design and develop my own parts and armor. Skids, rear bumper, roof rack maybe, etc. That sort of stuff is just really hard to do when your truck is your DD.I'm building a good foundation to be able to make this stuff happen though. I've got a partner and we're starting up a side business. Our roots so far are developing and packaging big brake kits. Our first kit's will be Z06, GT-R, and ZR-1 brakes for Nissan Z cars. He's a racer and drives a twin turbo G35 so we play two totally different games, but if we're successful in that venture, I'll spin that business into a different division to be able to develop off-road armor. The whole venture is in it's infancy right now, but we're developing our first prototypes as we speak, so we're off and running. Anyway, I've droned on enough about that.
Just so we're clear... Mike, Jon, Jeff, anybody, please feel free to use my build as a place to hang out and bullshit all you like. I don't mind having good discussions with like minded people in the slightest bit. It's just the flaming, haters, and argueing that I'm not really tolerant of. So yeah... Mi build thread es su build thread.

PD so happy for you having a baby. Didn't wanna say it earlier, but i see you talk to people about that so Congrats. I'm sure you will be an awesome dad, because i learned a lot of good things from you about the truck. And i wish i could come off road this time with you, but like i said earlier won't happen this time, but definately looking forward to next time. Can't wait to see you build some armor, because i saw the sliders you design and i love it. Keep me posted on any other trips you will be making.

What metric size were your tires before you put the 33s on? Were they 265 60 20s? I looked through the thread twice and couldn't seem to find it, but maybe I am just blind

They were 275/55R20. I've mentioned the size in other threads but don't know if I ever did in my build thread. Really good size for the amount of lift I was running. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Had a group run at Gulches this weekend with some Carolina members and even some NCFJ guys.

Just some pics from this past weekend. A lot non-4Runner related, but still some members might appreciate them.
One of my new partners asked me to bring the Runner by his shop so that he could see what the upcoming locker install project would entail. This is her first time up on the dyno lift. Too bad I couldn't make a pull since it was only a 2 wheel dyno. You can see the rollers just in front of the truck:
Pics I snapped of his shop. They mainly specialize in Nissan "Z" cars and are really known for doing GM LS engine swaps into Z's. They have a lot of 1000+ RWHP cars.
This one was in for an LS conversion:
A G and a Z:
This 370 belongs to a lawyer with a lot of money and a lot of toys:
This Supra is a work in progress, but still puts out around 700 HP in it's current form:
An RX7 and Z. Not sure what was under the cover. The guy that owns the Supra also owns this Mazda:
Matte black turbo Vette. This thing is pretty nasty:
There is a frame up resto 280Z under this cover that was pristine. Had some sort of racing paint scheme on it. Don't know enough about them to speak to it though, but it was beautiful. That's my other partners soon to be track car in the back (G35):
A shot of the parking lot the blue car in the middle has an LS putting out over 1000 HP to the wheels and the silver G next to it is my partners twin turbo beast:
Also got to get together with my boys [MENTION=65653]aha2988[/MENTION] and [MENTION=47269]Darklight[/MENTION] this weekend. Did some wrenching and a little trail riding and trail maintenance. Got to break out some chainsaws This was a new one we made. Not quite ready yet, not for the faint of heart and if you don't have armor, you need not apply. These rocks are BIG:

Definitely a fun a weekend! Thanks again for helping out with the Clazzios and all of the trail maintenance. My truck looks sick and the trail now offers a challenging crossing. Now to fill in some more rocks around the big ones. Looks like it's time for some upgraded skids
