I love cruising this forum checking out everybody's rigs and build threads, so after tinkering around with some mods this weekend, I figured I'd do one of my own.
I'll try to do a brief chronology:
Her in stock form soon after I got it
(Pic removed during Photobucket debacle of 2017)
First trip boarding in Snowshoe, WV (Yakima racks installed)
(Pic removed during Photobucket debacle of 2017)
So I bought the truck in spring of 06'. I think I had it paid off by 2008. But I didn't do my biggest upgrade until winter 09'-10' which was my stereo system. I don't really have any pics of this.
After finding T4R in spring 2011, I became intrigued with all the cool stuff you guys were doing to your rigs. So one weekend I decided to try my hand and doing some of these mods. I changed my wheels to Tundra wheels, blacked out all of the chrome, did the headlight blackout, and smoked all of the exterior lenses. Here is a pic after that with my boy Baxter:
I later sold those Tundra wheels to a fellow forum member and 3rd Gen owner down the road (Shout out to Jordan AKA Palmetto Runner!)
This past winter came the next biggest mod, which was my lift, wheels, and tires.
Here's a pic next to my buddies 06':
Next to moms FJ and Dad's Tundra (we're definitely a toyota family. Dad owns 6 Yota trucks):
In the folks' back yard:
A couple of weeks ago I did these
Added these TRD emblems (good for about 18 horsepower, haha):
My Batz Maru rear gate TRD emblem (because my wife is a Hello Kitty freak!):
and added some new decals to the rear window (good for an additional +4 MPG, haha)
Which brings us to this past weekend. I finally found my way to Plasti-Dip since so many of you guys rave over it. My grille and frankly entire front end was chipped and effed up from the awful roads where I used to live, so I figured I'd repair it. I used paint the first time. I really like the stuff, but did discover that if it dries on your edge tape, it's coming with it! While I was doing this I decided to do the "Evo Mod" and white my front Toyota emblem and V8 emblem to see how it looks (Proud it's a Yota?... Yep. Proud it's a V8?.. Yep!). I think it turned out pretty good:
Also while I was digging into to her, I decided to go ahead and start wiring my back-up camera. I got this from Amazon for $7. I did not finish wiring it this weekend however. I'll let you guys know how it is. If it sucks... well, I'm out 7 bucks. But if it works, then great!
Clearly i've gone for a Storm Trooper theme, and clearly Autbond and Fo-Sheezy's trucks from this forum were HUGE influences. Not just for the fact that we all have Rockstar wheels, but that they're trucks are just amazing to me.
Alright, sorry for the long thread fellas. Hope you like it!
