Supra725 Build Thread

update..

is been 2 weeks since I had the rig dropped off at the shop.. and let's just see, I'm a bit disappointed..

I went by there last friday and the owner of the shop told me it would be ready by 5:00 pm today.. and is 5:28 pm as I'm writing this.

I called him and he told me is on a test drive but when I called the shop.. I don't know if it's the secretary or his wife.. her attitude was rude and a ******.. I asked her if the car was ready and her quote was this ' I don't want your car in my shop anymore as much as I like'.. I was like.. wow, on top of that.. her words ' rebuilding a transmission takes time'... isn't 2 weeks more than sufficient to do this job..

man was I pissed, when I get my car back.. I'm going to talk with her boss or husband about her negative ways in handling with customers.. cause this is unacceptable on so many levels..

sorry for no update.

I was in socal last week and didn't get back till thursday..

on an side note, found a guy online selling an 54 in rigid led bar for $350.. retails is $2K+.. but the thing though, will it be too wide for our rigs?

should I pull the trigger on it? or should i skip it?

Hey man,
I love your rig. I'm in Davis too and i think I've seen it around here and there.
You have a great truck, its inspired me to try some new things out on mine :thumb3:.
Just thought id reach out and say hey.

Hey James,

thank you.. sorry I haven't been checking the thread, been out of town here and there with the family and girlfriend..

hope to see you around town.

So sorry for no updates..

school just started last week and I'm back at it again..

however though, I'm going to do an retrofit with the fog lights and give it an updated look..

with the weather getting colder and more fog , I can't run my rigid's as much as I would like to.. so I'm going to redo the fogs..

on the bright side though, one of my friends does welding and we are going to do an front and rear bumper this winter..

Got a question.

How much did everyone paid for the 01-02 tail lights?

Cause tonight, I'm going to meet a guy for an pair for $50. I want to give it an updated look.

Thanks

alright.. thanks Connor, i will get some pics tomorrow after the install..

now though, i need an sport hood.. let the fun begin lol..

well, the guy ended up not being able to meet tonight.. so he postponed it till tomorrow..

but also, I have a question.. last weekend, I was going down a steep grade and the brakes got so hot, smoke started to come out.. and I'm thinking of doing a brake job on it and replace it with new rotors, shoes and pads.. what does everyone use for their rigs?

duralast gold, if you just doing the pads, oem if you are doing everything since the aftermarket ceramic pads are not really good for new rotors.

without further ado

bare with me, she is a little dirty..

it has been raining on and off all week plus windy too..

awe man! you should have gone with the white letters out! It's sportier looking IMO.

Im running Posiquiet Extended Wear pads on my rig and so far i love them, stock 4runner brakes. I have been using the Posiquiet Ceramic pads on my other cars and love those as well.

How are you liking the duralast gold Eric? any issues?

I been debating on that, the brembo rotors are $55 on tirerack and $40 for the pads.. should I also go oem for the shoes?

yeah.. I know but keeping the white letters clean are a pain in the arse..

well I got the pair of lights.. however though, the top bulb hole is smaller than the one I have on my rig.. and I had to bust out the dremel for some added fun..

needless to say, it wasn't bad and the results aren't bad.. the updated look is nice.

pics will follow when the sun comes out.
