Oooh, if you have THAT many.. what about a vertical standing rack instead? These are what I normally see in the pro's garages (cause they have like 27,393.2 boards at all times it appears) as well as what a lot of board shops use. Might wanna go that route instead if you have a lot. hah.

I built one of these but never use it. I've got some travel bags so just store all my boards in there and tuck them under my bed.

It's being called 3-4' around my local breaks today. I have my board in the car right now, gonna have a look at it after work today and hopefully Sat morning waves too. :yo:

We're forecasted for 3-4+ fair to good tomorrow down in the Outer Banks. Going to be making the drive tonight and surf early in the AM. Stoked on it

It's a big mess up here. And not in a good way. The winter gems here are found inside the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Get the proper swell, period and angle and the energy heads right into it. It fires off of a lot of the river mouths and produces the closest thing we get here to points.

But these swells lately have been just a mess. Hope you guys get paid!

Got out yesterday and caught like 2 quick walled in and outs.
Got skunked this AM.. little ones coming in but not breaking until practically ON the sand.

Hello all :surfer:s...... Nice to see some fellow wave riders in here.
INTRO I guess i am the old mf'er here. Been surfing for 45 years. Learned in Myrtle Beach of all places. Lived in Maryland most of my life. Have surfed most breaks between New Jersey and Florida many times over, but most of my riding is in Delaware and Maryland. My parents retired 25 years ago near the OBX, so i have surfed there a lot also. My daughter moved to Carlsbad Ca 2 years ago and we visit her 3-4x a year.Surfed most of all San Diego county and Orange county up to Huntington Beach. Been to Hawaii back in late 80's and loved it. Of all the places i have been, i like SoCal the best. Great vibes,waves, food and beer. And rode the biggest wave in Delaware right after a hurricane about 25 years ago.....damm im old . I got boards stashed in 4 states, not even sure how many i really own now. I have had about 10 Toyota trucks/4runners of all gens, but def like the 3rd gen as a all around "surf" vehicle. Now let me go crawl back under my rock........

I can remember back in the day before web cams. extended surf forecasts etc..we would sometimes make 12 hour round trips and not even getting out of the truck upon seeing no waveshwell:

That still happens regularly up here. With how fickle the waves are inside the strait combined with how amazing they are when they work, my ratio is probably 50:50 when it comes to scoring waves vs getting skunked. Although, I do feel like that ratio has gotten much better over the past few years. I feel like I'm getting it more dial and getting better at predicting when waves will be there.

For example, this is a spot just outside of Port Angeles, WA. Which is roughly 80 miles inland from open ocean.

Nice! Glad you posted up. Sounds like a fun surf "career". I have to agree with you about SoCal.. but I may be a little bias. hah. :yo:

On vacation by way of Houston, TX in Kauai, HI. This island is beautiful, as the whole state is. We are taking surfing lessons this week, so maybe i'll catch the bug.

In Houston, we are 80 miles from Galveston, Texas, a typical touristy beach island with small waves, not conducive for regular surfing outside a decent swell. I've done SUP a few times, though don't own a board.

Been to Hawaii once, stayed on the North Shore of Oahu. I was there in October though, so it was prior to any of the major swells. Pipeline was flat. Would've loved to see those waves live.
Someday I'll find my way back again during a peak swell time and experience that.
I love Hawaii.

Finally got around to building a rack for my storage room. Pretty simple. Not convinced on its longevity as I was hoping the ABS caps would be deeper. May look into a different system, but for now it works and gets them out of my way!

The space below will be for the longer boards as well as my SUP's. Figured they were too heavy to put on that type of rack.
