Swap borla exhaust from old 4runner to new

My friend has an older 4Runner that he is selling and is willing to let me swap his borla exhaust onto my new 4Runner. His 4Runner was in NY for a good chunk of its life and is over 100K miles. The clamp on the exhuast has some rust but not terrible and the exhaust itself is in pretty decent shape on the surface. It does not look shiny anymore obviously but it doesnt look like it is about to rust through anywhere. Is there any reason it would not be smart to swap such an old exhaust on to my new 4Runner?

Yes. I know it's subjective, but I would make sure you want your 4R to sound that way. Lot's of complaints about the sound of aftermarket exhausts and even the TRD exhaust.

Depends which Borla exhaust, the Borla Tuning which I have sounds amazing and is very subtle, the Type S is a bit louder and people have complained about it being too loud. But if it's Borla it should be stainless and not rusted. I'd say go for it

It's the touring exhaust. I have driven his 4runner a fair bit to see if I like it and I definitely do. And yes it is stainless since it is the touring.

I love my Touring, my wife doesn't even know that it's an aftermarket exhaust lol

Just because it’s stainless doesn’t mean it won’t rust especially on an exhaust. There are different grades of stainless steel and most exhausts are not of a high grade. I had the stainless Magnaflow on for a couple years and I looked terrible after a short period of time.

Borla has million mile warranty. Go for it. If it rusts they replace the rusted part. ( know from experience)
