Swapped Bridgestone Duellers for Firestone Desination AT on new TE for $15!!!

I just purchased my new 2012 silver TE and, like I have seen many others comment on this board, hated the look and feel of the stock Duellers. I had 405 miles on the vehicle, having had it 2 weeks, and called around to ask if anyone would give me credit for the Duellers. Finally, called the Firestone shop and he said to drop by. Figured he wanted to just get me in. I saw the Duellers were $115 on Tire Rack, so I was ready to take a credit as low as $75 per tire to go toward the Destiation AT 275's.. After the guy looked at the Duellers, he gave me full credit, so I only paid mounting and balancing!!!!! So for $15, I went from 265 Duellers to 275 Destiation AT's!!! The ride is a bit stiffer, but in a good way. The vehicle now tracks much better on the road. I did notice just a slight increase in road noise from 60 on up, but not much. Definitely not a roar or anything, just slightly louder.

Went to the Firestone dealer just now and asked about a trade up with 5000 miles on my Dueler HT's....said the manager was off today but would call me tomorrow.....for Firestone, it appears like the Blizzak's are the best for ice and snow, but will not last in 50/60 degree and up weather...that makes the Destination AT's better for all year wear....seems thats what is popular here on the forum

I am hoping to do the same. I am not even waiting, I am going to drive straight off the lot to the tire store, which ever one wants to deal, and get some Nittos thrown under it. If I even get half of what you got I will be happy.

I checked 5 local stores including Goodyear, Firestone, and merchant tire. Only 1 of them is willing to give me a credit on my 500 mile old Dunlops. They were only willing to give me $25 each which wouldn't even cover mounting/balancing. Any idea which stores generally give you a decent trade in credit or is it just hit or miss between the different franchises?

I tried our local Firestone store and they wouldn't do anything....tried other places and no one would give a credit in central NH. Sucks...I'll run the duellers or sell them with 15 k on them for 50 each.

nice! I sold mine same place but for $400 only because it had about 2.6k on them.
