Is there any reason we couldn't just drill all the way through the frame and use a really long bolt? I just stripped my threads as well and thought about using EZ-lok thread repair, but thought that there may not be enough material in the welded nut to drill out to 31/64" for tapping.
As long as your threads stripped and the weld nut didn’t just come loose you should be able to drill to the next size. I’ve read people have taken that approach. Not sure on the size though.
I guess you could always drill or cut a window In the side of the frame if that doesn’t work. You could always stack a nut on top of the weld nut if you can‘t knock it or break it loose to remove it. I would think it wouldn’t be that hard to break loose since a lot of people have it break free just loosening the bolts.
