Sway bar link rubbing spindle

A little after installing my lift, i heard a clank from the front passenger wheel while turning. I checked it out and the sway bar link is bent and rubbing the spindle during turns. I was just gonna bend the link back but i found some products on toytec that might help the problem in the future. Has anyone installed the Front Swaybar Relocate Kit or the Sway bar positioning clamps ? Im contemplating just pulling the front sway bar all together. Thoughts?

I've got a similar noise, haven't pinned down the culprit though. I'll have to look at mine and see if I notice that being the issue. Those clamps are new to me, may be worth a shot. I've got swaybar relocates sitting at home, just gotta quit being lazy and put them on. I may do that tonight and if so, I'll report back.
 
i had the gf turn the wheel all the way to the right while i had my head down there and i saw the link hit and rub along the spindle. Crank it all the way to the right and see if you can slide a piece of paper between the spindle and link.

Ive never seen or heard of the clamps but it seems like thats what i need. Yeah, keep me updated on the relocates.
 
I've tried listening for the noise outside the vehicle but mine doesn't do it all the time. I've not been able to reproduce it while I was trying to diagnose the cause. I'll try crawling under there and watching it. Mines only coming from the right side and when turned right, same as yours from the sound of it. Also, if I hit something like a speed bump at an angle I hear it as well, but not when both tires hit it at the same time.
 
From a recent conversation with Toytec, the swaybar relocate is not necessary unless the lift is bigger than 3". From what I can read, your lift is about 3" so idk. Maybe its best to do it than not just to save the hassle given that its a 30$ and 30 min part.
 
I'm right at 3"and got it just in case, so I'll be adding it since I already have it to see if that helps. Casper is at 3.5", sounds like it would definitely benefit him based on what they told you.
 
I installed the relocates and took it for a quick spin. I noticed no actual rubbing from it, but only had 1/4" or less clearance at rest. The noise seems better, but still there. I'm thinking I had multiple sources, pretty sure the relocate solved one of them. I finally found the other issue, it's with the end link on the drivers side. I rocked the 4runner side to side and there was a very noticeable clicking, which we traced to the end link. I'm not sure if it just needs tightened down or if it will have to be replaced. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and not able to look at it any further until I make a trip back home. Not sure that's your problem but worth a shot. Here's a video to show what I'm experiencing.

Damn, that's an interesting noise. Is any part of the swaybar hitting the shock? Does it make that noise while turning too?
 
Before the relocates I had less than 1/4" between the sway bar and shock. No contract while the vehicle was parked. I did get noises when turning, different than what's in the video above. After the relocates it's not anywhere close to touching. The only time I've noticed the noise is going over bumps at an angle. I've not noticed any noise when turning after the relocates, and I did before.
 
have you tried tightening your steering rod? i had that a few days ago when i installed my lift. then i retighten the steering/tie rod.

-use air tools to tighten it with a few light taps of the rachetgun.
-mine click/clank after quick turns/180degree steering turns/bumps/getting off the drive way with or without turns.

then again, my lift is different then yours. Doesnt hurt to try.
