swaybar relocation bracket?

I have not run a sway bar in a long time.

Now that I have the front disconnect setup fabricated, I'm trying to test it out on my truck with the ICONS.

ICON include a relocation bracket (which lowers the swaybar frame mounts and moves them a bit forward). However, the sway-bar now seems to contact the radiator support brackets slightly on the drivers side.

There was some extra washers included with the relocation kit. Are they used to lower the radiator support brackets a bit?

The instructions don't mention anything about them.

I tried a quick search and I could only find something stating the washers are to lower the factory skid plate, but I'm not sure if that is referring to the radiator supports brackets (which are more or less factory skid plate supports)

I'm probably going to try that tomorrow, but was just curious what others had done.

You could try using spacers as in the thread above. Warthog just ground a little off his where it was contacting. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/165542-warthog-build-adventure-thread-20.html#post1979935

I am of the school of lowering as few things as possible. I hate doing a lift when you have to turn around and lower other things and just reducing ground clearance that you just gained.

Thanks guys, the other thread explains it. I could not find that last night. The instructions are for the 4th gen, so they clearly don't mention the spacers....


I'm wondering if the swaybar relocation bracket is even required on the 5th gens. It looks like it would clear the coil overs without them...No big deal either way. I'll have to see how the skid plats fit after lowering the supports a bit.

yes, the four spacers are for exactly that... you will also need longer bolts for the skid plate once installed.
