switchable reverse cam?

The reverse camera only comes on while the gear shifter is in reverse and all of the other manufacturers are the same I think.
Can it be rigged to be switchable so you can turn it on when you want it on?
I have seen an aftermarket NAV/Cam that was like that.

yes. when the vehicle is put in reverse the reverse acts as the trigger to supply power. you simply need to find the power wire to the camera and give it a new power source


**disclaimer. this is for all after market parts, I cant say with 100% certainty it works on OEM setups but my assumption is it works the same way
