Synthetic Vs Conventional motor oil

FYI some of Toyota's OEM filters are made by Bosch. The Bosch filters you buy at the parts store are identical to Toyota OEM ones. Usually you can get a better deal on Bosch at the Advanced, AutoZone,etc.

Group IV base oils are not dino. Amsoil is the other.

Thanks, I had forgotten about Amsoil. I remember having a discussion with one of the Amsoil salesmen a while back about synthetic oils. Guy knew way more about oil than most of us will ever know in our lives.

The people who know the most about engine oil are chemical engineers who engineer engine oil.

I run AMSOIL in the Runner. I figure if the engine blows, I'll put in a 5.7

Switched to M1 at 50k, first OCI for it was 5kish, now pushing 6.2k. I'm going to go 7.5k and change it out.

The V8 is extremely easy on oil.
