Makes me wish I had a 4WD and lived a bit farther north. My mistake for getting a 2wd. Have fun!!

so im assuming this is still on... sweet, ive got a friend with a cherokee that wants to come... should make us all feel better about our trucks!! ill be at the gas station on the north west corner of that intersection around 1030 or so airing down and getting ready.
who wants to lead? i only know the more serious trails that people without snorkels might not want to attempt, here is a link to the map that i will be using this weekend

oh... and of course my winch is out of my bumper this weekend... so we cant do anything too crazy (that is unless WARN refunds my money today and lets me buy a new winch tomorrow) but i will have a tow strap or two so as long as we have a tow strap per vehicle we should be fine for any recovery efforts that are needed. well, anyways im heading to tampa today to work on my truck a little before she goes out and gets all dirty on sunday

Hey guys - I'm looking forward to this Sunday. Fooldall I intend to stick to relatively easy/moderate stuff, but I'm bringing a tow strap and a shovel just in case cuz there's one spot I've been meaning to conquer for over 5 years now where I got stuck a couple times in lesser vehicles - I call it the "crater" 
Don't worry though, there's an easy way to get around it.

Wish I could, gotta prepare for the family coming into town for turkey day. Maybe next time, I go up to Hernando/Citrus county regularly, and it doesn't seem like where you all are going is too far away. Thanks for the invite!

i know of something that seems like a giant muddy crater... is this it?
if it is... well, i might want to bring a shovel also!! but there is an easy bypass to it, fooldall, i dont intend to push anyone to do anything they dont want to do, i was just saying that i only know of the more extreme trails because that is all that i have run on club rides and such. which is why someone else might want to lead, otherwise im just going to pick a random trail and go down it. if you guys are more interested in climbing hills and articulation citrus is about 20 minutes away from richloam and perhaps we could swing by there before the day is over. i will prob, be out in the woods around 930 tomorrow exploring a couple of trails with my buddy before we meet up with you guys at the gas station. there is a subway at the gas station and so we might want to grab lunch since we dont know when we will be back

This was about 6 or 7 years ago though, and I think the spot he's stuck in was where the rutted portion is now - that tree behind him was still there but much closer now to a new crater.http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=1004&highlight=crater

I'd be interested in it if any of you don't mind hauling out a 2WD from time to time. Yeah...I know...should have gone with the 4WD. My mistake

i dont mind hauling you out, as long as you get out there and be 1 of the 10% that use their SUV's offroad it will be worth it. citrus is very technical though and 4wd comes in VERY handy when your rear tires get lifted, here are some teasers for anyone interested in going out there

Yeah my bfg's are 285/75/16, and they just rub on the upper A arm and frame a little bit. it does equate to just around a 33".
i actually ordered my kit from sleeoffroad.com, back when i ordered it it was only 650, now its 680, but it works well! i dont see it listed as an option anywhere, but i have the heavy duty coils and heavy duty shocks up front with the trim packer (if an ARB and winch is in your future, i suggest you do the same.) in the rear i have the medium coils and medium shocks.
thanks for the compliments on the truck, i slaved hard over a hot ass grill for a year and bussed tables for another year to pay for most of this stuff, and it turned out pretty much how i wanted it to. now i just gotta get some sliders and a new winch and order that rear locker and it will be set for awhile!!
you might want to go search over on yotatech for the tundra lift and lc coils, it will give more lift and provide more flex than the OME, but also costs about twice as much! but hey, money grows on trees right??
anyways, hope santa treats you right, citrus is a great place to test out some new tires and new lift!!
