t4rghost's Carolina Edition Build Thread
I finally think I have done enough to my truck to justify a build thread.
I'll start by giving a little background about myself and my 4runner. I go to school for mechanical engineering and will finish up next year. I got my 4runner in September of 2013. I previously had an '07 mazdaspeed 3. I got rid of it to get something bigger and with 4wd. I originally wanted a Tacoma, but couldn't find one within my budget so started looking at 4runners. After looking for awhile, I found an '06 4.0L 4wd sport edition. To make it even better, it was white, which was the color I wanted. Enough with the talk, here is a picture the night I bought it.
It didn't take long before I wanted to lift it. I browsed for awhile until deciding on Bilstein 5100's all around with tacoma front coils and Toytec superflex rear coils. Here is how it looked immediately following the lift. Still stock tire size.

It looked bad with the small tires but being on a college budget I couldn't do anything about it for several months. I was working at a tire store at the time and eventually saved enough money and got a killer deal on some new BFG mud terrain km 255/75r17. I paid $600 out the door and installed while I was working :naughty:. The next week I checked the price for the tires I bought and they were back at $250 a piece:noidea: Here it is soon after the new tires before a fishing trip to Ocracoke Island, NC. Sorry about the crappy Instagram filter, my phone broke several months back so pictures are limited.
Alignment was off so got some Camburg bj ucas to fix the alignment and Spidertrax wheel spacers to poke the tires out some away from the uca. And yes I removed the installation sticker! and got some caps to keep out dirt
Most recent mod was this sleeping platform/storage box I built last weekend. I go camping a decent amount so this will be immensely convenient and more comfortable. Front comes off so I still have access to rear seats when not going on a trip.
