Hi All,

Well it's that time of the month again, and no I'm not talking about why my wife just threw the tv remote....just kidding I'm not married :D

Anyways now that the mood is set, lets get down to business, y'all know what to do!!

The nomination thread wasn't as plentiful as I would have liked but it is what it is. In the instances where we had multiple members from the same gen with the same amount of nominations, I simply just picked the member who received the nominations first inorder to comply with this month's rule of having one t4r from each gen.

For me, it was between Adio3x and Needsmoresalt...

Both have incredible trucks with very tasteful mods & upgrades. I tried to pick based on which one I'd rather own, but I couldn't decide, so I based my decision on who had the better build thread.... Adio3x for the win! :bravo:

I figured I would give this thread a bump....

I'm not sure if the T4ROTM is losing interest or not but we need more participation!

You guys should really check into Nate's (GonOvr) build thread. His runner is a bit high for most people but the work that he has done to it is top notch with a really good combination of parts installed. Best part is that a lot of it required custom fabrication, not just a bunch of bolt on stuff. That is where the real modifications start.

I think it would get more intrist if it wasnt limited to one gen rig per month. i would like to see multiple 3rd and 4th gens in the running at the same time. (and 1st and second)

Thats the second time thats been suggested and you know what, I like it! Next month will be 1st gen runners only and then June will be only 2nd gens and so on.
 
Actually thats not what i meant.

I was saying have whatever 10 or however many 4runners that are nominated the most be in the official poll and it not matter about generation. I dont want the poll to be limited by generation.

It's "Toyota 4runner of the month" not "toyota 1st(2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th) gen 4runner of the month"

I hope you get what I'm saying here. Not meaning to be pushy though, i am open to whatever the community wants!

You gotta look at the total thread count per gen. When its free for all gens, then most people are most likely to pick their gen. regardless if its better than the other nominee's or not.

If its one gen per month, then everyone would have to vote on that gen so they couldnt be bias to their own until of course their gen comes up. I dont care to go up against a 1st, 3rd, 4th, or 5th. I built a 2nd and I should have to go up against 2nd's and vise versa. The other gen's cant really relate to my build and nor can I to theirs.

I like it. Every sixth month it starts over. Maybe at end of the year all previous winners compete head to head for the 4Runner of the year.
 
Someone should PM a mod and see if we can get the sidebar poll up again, it gives the contest a lot more exposure.

Last month I PMed admin and he had it up the next day. I guess I could do it again but I don't wanna be that guy who bugs the mods about it every month.

edit - the problem with regulating what gen gets voted for is that all gens aren't equally active.

Sorry about the confusion on my part, I read your first post too quickly and misunderstood it...my bad. Now I get you. Your last sentences sums up my feelings as well, I'm here to do what the community wants so hopefully more people chime in on this. Here's the potential issues I see with your idea, but I'm not trying to shoot it down, if thats what everyone want, then thats what we'll do.

First off, when you have too many nominees in one poll, its tends to spread the votes out so much that you get multple nominees with the same votes which could require a tie breaker. Altho, the big issue is what GonOvr mentioned...its that the more popluar gens (3rd/4th/5th) tend to get all the votes while the equally nice (or nicer) 1st/2nds get left in the dust simply becuase there aren't as many members that own them.

Exactly, but its not really fair to the members of the older gens that are active. This is why I was thinking one gen per month so that there is no bias or more popular gen wins BS. But in the end, its whatever floats everyones bateau.

EDIT: I'll contact a mod about getting it in the sidebar.

I threw in another vote for GonOvr mainly because its awsome lookin but also because I'm not a huge fan of the 5th gens or soft tops and as much as I like the work Salt has put into his T4R, its the tires that throw me off, and that his bumper isnt level... but he was a close second IMO. Regardless - its a solid group to be picking from.
 
whooooaaaaa, lots and lots of $$ in some LED's...

all those rigs are looking clean, classy, and equipped, just how a capable Toyota should.
 
So what does everyone think?

Idea #1: Have multiple rigs from each generation in the poll , similar to how we did it in March (For further explanation, see posts #5 & 9 on the first page of this post)

Idea #2: Have one generation per month. Like May will be only 1st gens, June only 2nd gens etc. Also it does have to go it that order, we could switch it up, the big thing is that it limits the polls to 1 gen per month.

Idea #3: Yet to be determined, Give us your idea!
