Also, glad to see someone else running the TRD 16's. They're an awesome wheel.

There's no stand on that. They're fine.

The only steadfast rule is one nomination or 2nd. You can't nominate two different trucks since you only have one vote. This rule is sometimes set aside in extremely slow months.

I personally think that self nominations are awkward. I think that any member that is on this forum should do their part in being a contributing member. Now, I'm not saying that everyone needs to participate in every thread in every forum and sub forum. But enough participation that your peers will recognize you or your screen name therefore nominating you.

That's how I personally vote for oTM contestants. I like to look at the number of posts per day, number of threads, and at least the last several responses to threads. Maybe that makes us "losers" for participating so heavily in an online forum. But that's what make this particular forum great. It's the overall quality of people that participate. I have been fairly involved in plenty of online forums. They widely range from RC cars, Jeeps, garages, and other 4wd related forums. The quality of people on this one exceeds those of any of the other forums combined.

I have nothing against you [MENTION=15853]Redswan[/MENTION]. You've got a fantastic 4th gen. It is built very well and appears to be very well thought out. It's no wonder why you are getting the amount of votes you are. And well deserved I might add.
But my vote went to someone who I believe is an asset to this community and could probably use the skid plate!

Thank you for the compliments on my truck.I have worked hard to get it where it is. Overall, I agree with you as far as the quality of the member (their contribution to the forum) and their build (effort put into it). I think that whoever the nominee is should be upstanding enough to be recognized and seconded based on those factors.

As far as the prizes go. They are nice, but as I have stated before I have earned everything I have ever had (and have what I need). I would rather help someone else out who is working hard and needs the item more than me. If I do win this I plan to do just that. Thats not politics, that's just the person I am.

That said thanks everyone for the support and votes. I am honored.

Really?? Where HAVE you been? [MENTION=57196]needsmoresalt[/MENTION] has even been up for T4ROTM back in April of 2012 before we went to gen specific, but fell a little behind the 5th and 3rd gens.

Bad ass 4th gen for sure. I stole his idea of putting square lights in round buckets. C'mon Zak, get with it. Man i spend too much time here.

Thanks for the comments. I was just kidding around. I work too much to spend a ton of time on the board, so I am not fresh in anyones mind. Plus, I pretty much built the truck over the course of a year and did not document much of the work performed, hence no build thread. These days I get the most enjoyment from the puzzled looks from lifted FJ owners.

I do however respond to any questions for help on how I did something or how well a certain product performs.

Thats OK, I understand the comment. I remember thinking back then that stock 4th Gens looked like station wagons to me. Comparatively, though after having owned both for a few years. I like my 4th Gen more because of the size, power and performance. Both are really good trucks though. :lookout:

There are definitely perks to having a 4th gen, no doubt. And I really like your old rig! Why did you get rid of it if you don't mind me asking? Or was it because of the size, power and performance problems. :wink2:

Funny story. So all in the same 2 month time frame. I got rear ended in it (got it fixed), blew the transmission out in it (over $2000 a pop) got the replacement tranny in and a week later it blew again. All the down time was irritating. I couldn't leave my family with a questionable vehicle as I deployed about 4 months later. I sold it for dirt cheap and my wife bought the 4th Gen while I was gone.

When I came back on mid tour the family picked me up in it at the airport. She said this is your new truck and you can do whatever you want to it when you get back. So I did. I have been build it slowly ever since.
