Hello all,

Welcome to round 3. This one is going to be the same as the other two....different :D

What we're gonna do is restrict the month to only ONE gen 4runner. Myself and the majority of the members who joined in the discussion ( http://www.toyota-4runner.org/general-discussions/113287-t4rotm-april-2012-a-3.html) felt by doing this it would remove alot of the bias (from gen to gen) and also be good to get members out of their own sub-forum and into others.

We'll begin with the 1st gen. So FIRST GENS ONLY folks and as usually, if your the first person to nominate someone, try to find a picture and build thread to link. It's not neccesary but it's really helpful.

Also note, to cut down on threads, i'm just going to put the poll up in this thread May 15th +/- 1day as usual.

SEE PAGE 3 FOR NOMINEE'S PIC/BUILD THREAD

Here are the nominee's links, actual pics are still on page 3

Searching the 1st gen picture thread was very entertaining, loads of nice lookin setups, and very clean looking 4Runners.

I'm not sure if 93Toy has won yet, wouldn't suprise me, but this thing is sweet and worthy of a nomination. I couldn't find a build thread but here's a link to his garage.

Can I renominate SV_Dude even though he was nominated last month?

I love the soft top and baja claws. When I can afford a dedicated trail rig it will have those two things.

1989 4runner
-1994 GM Vortec 4.3l engine
-GM 4l60e built transmission
-4.30 gears
-35" BFG mud terrains
-15x12 Mickey Thompson rims
-4" skyjacker suspension lift
-3" body lift (to clear transmission tunnel)
-Soft Topper soft top
-Havoc Motorsports rock sliders
-Smitty bumper
-B&M shifter
-Bilstein shocks
-Trail Gear tube doors
-Sr5 front and rear seats

I was going to ask the same!

YAH! Forsure! I'll count this as 2 nominations.

I personally am going to second 93Toy's nomination. Its unfortunate that he doesn't have a build thread but that thing is a beauty especially for its age...it's in better condition than some 5th gens.

If trekker's are included then slacker gets my vote

That is a very good question, Nate, and needs an official answer--is the Trekker considered a 1st gen 4Runner?

IMO, I don't see an issue with it, especially since they are "the forerunner to the 4runner"...I mean come on :bigok:

And judging by the amount of likes on Nate's post, i'm not the only one with that opinion. It is a nice clean build.

@SV_dude :worthless
For god sakes I hope it didn't damage the soft top :D

That trecker is definatly a great lookin rig but honestly I didn't think it looked to much like a 4 runner when I first saw it. Never te less it is awsome but I dont regret my nomination. For the record - Sv dude was another solid concideration for me.

oh, yeah... I'm kinda drunk right now :D :D

I like that this is making a comeback, but I kind of think that it's a bit much to do it once a month. Seems like you never really get a chance to enjoy the winners ride. Once one wins, it's right to the next. What about doing it quarterly?

Thoughts?

So change it to t4r of the quarter? It's always been of the month...

You can enjoy the winner's ride all you want for the rest of eternity by visiting the t4rotm past winners list, can't you?

And you can enjoy all the nominees (and well everyone else) by just visiting their build thread.

This way gives more people the opportunity to be considered "t4r of the [whatever]"

Yep. All valid points. I just know that I personally am already disinterested in the whole process because it happens so often. You nominate, vote for nominations (which to say I think is no longer a part of the process) and then vote for the winner. Just seems like it would be a bit more of a unique thing if you did it less often.

Again, not saying it should be or needs to be changed. Just giving my two cents.

Am I the only one that thinks t4rotm should just die again? When you did a All-Gen's thing, people participated and just voted for someone from their own generation 4runner. Now that you did a single-gen voting, no one is participating. Not a single 5G owner has posted in here. I already let you know in your first ROTM thread that I wasn't going to participate, but I do atleast browse different gen threads.

If you think that it should die off then just don't post here.

T4ROTM is nothing prestigious but it is a good way to share everyone's 4runners and their way of building them.
