Taco front end conversion????

I have Lexus badges if you need them, I debadged my SC400 and I think I put them on eBay or CL...Thinking baout doing this but putting Lexus badges on it
I like the Scion style emblem on the Taco front, its only a Toyota emblem it doesnt say Scion on it for Christ Sakes.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this project progresses. I really enjoy the taco clip conversion and it definitely stands out in a good way! Good luck w/ the rest of the project!
Sorry to have neglected this thread, but life's been nuts for a while. Update on the conversion is that the body's done. My son finally has the dough to get hte paint done, and it's going in next week. Staying with the IJM green. A Kennesaw Mtn winch bumper, black bedliner spray factory rear bumper, and bedlinered fender trims are all thats left. Also going black with all the emblems and trim pieces. The whole thing should be done in a couple weeks now.
The parts we needed to do the swap (all 2004 Tacoma):
Hood
Hood hinges (the 4R ones wo'nt work)
Fenders
Rad core support and hardware
Taco fender flares (the 4R ones fit the arch, but the bolt holes and tabs don't line up)
Taco plastic wheel well liners, (same as above)
Taco hood insulation and rubber seals
Grille, Headlight assemblies, cornerlights
All the sheet metal we got was aftermarket, and fit reasonably well. Total sheetmetal cost was around $400.
Grille and lights were Toyota, so a little pricy, but not terrible about $250 I think alltogether.
Fender flares and wheel well liners are junkyard pieces about $50 for all
We all know what a bumper costs, roughly $800 depending.....
Total conversion, not including paint will be around $1500. If you already have a big bumper on your 4R, thats a plus, and paint depends on how much you want to spend.
The boys ride was all bashed up, so it took a while to get it all taken apart, but if you're starting with a solid rig, and some basic know-how, you could do the parts swap in a weekend. All the fender attach bolt holes line up, and the rad core support bolts right up to the factory mounts at the bottom but doesnt fit the inner fender liners quite perfectly and takes some massaging, and you'll have to drill out hte spot welds holding the old one to the inner fenders.
Pictures will follow after the paint job.

That thing is going to look so good once you finish. Definitely want to see it in the IJM as that is what I have.
Sounds like you got a really good deal on everything. Can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks for posting everything.

The whole project sounds pretty darn amazing and cant wait to see the finished product. The only point of caution I would have for you is with the bumper. Kennesaw Mountain has has some REALLY REALLY bad reviews. Unless you are right there to monitor them fabing it up I would be extremely leery!! Just a thought as I know you are looking at doing a great deal of work and money invested. Just wanted to let you know in case you have not had a chance to research.

lol. i am the owner of that black 4runner. every now and then i like to look at post with people talking about my 4runner. did it like in 06. think i was the first ever. always amazing me of all the forums i go to people posting and talking about my truck. good or bad, its pretty popular, i still to this day get compliments in person everywhere i go, atleast couple times a week. truck still looks the same, but im actually taking off the lift and tires/wheels and going with stock black FJ wheels, and the trucks getting repainted flat black. im over lifted trucks.
BTW: story about the scion emblem, my brother had a TC, he crashed it, when i went to the scene of the accident, i found the emblem on the ground, i picked it up and stuck it on my grille because i havnt installed the toyota one yet...well i got so many comments on it being there, i left it on to give people that "wtf" effect, so if your talking about it. it worked

That is no excuse for bad taste... So Gay It is custom made, but this isnt' bad
Not surprised by the comments, it is a great look. It reminds me of the first gen durango's. I really liked the look of the first gen durango's. Then they screwed it up and made it look like a minivan.
