I've been trying to find (using the search function) for the picture of the black 3rd gen with the Tacoma front clip. Does anyone happen to have that picture or know who's rig it is?

That does look good, the fenders and corner lights look the same. What needs the be swapped the hood, grill and headlights ?

It's everything for the front. Fenders as well. It's not completely bolt on. You have to mess around with some welding too.

feners, grill, hood, bumper, core support, and a few other small things. its a lot of work and unless you have the time and both trucks and just want to do for fun or your runner has been wrecked its not really worth it. but i tell you what, if my runner ever gets hit in the front ill be doing this swap, the tacoma parts are actually a little bit cheaper, and a friend of mine owns a couple of auto body shops in the portland metro area so i know i can get him to do it and still be covered under insurance(if i get hit that is) i think it looks cool. i remember their being a couple threads on that truck in the past 6 months or so.

I can appreciate the time and effort that went into this but IMHO it looks like un-wiped a$$. Our stock 4Runners front end looks awesome.

see, its not that its a bad idea overall. it has its merits. its that most every time it ends up being done improperly. sure its shiny, but look at the details, thats what makes or breaks a conversion like this. the flares and trim are all messed up which really throws it off in a bad way. the backs are low pro highlander fenders, still matte black, not even matching the front flares, which are likely bushwhackers, and of course they dont have anything on the bumper to even it out and make it line up. they should have used either no flares at all all around, or larger flares all around, along with limited bumper flares pieces. not to mention the sighon badge.
as to the argument its cheaper to replace the front facia, theres only two problems with that. one is that the headlights are plastic, not glass. that means fogging up, easier cracks and replacing them more often. the second is that you had to spend several hundred dollars at the least to do the conversion in the first place, which will buy a lot of headlights and grills. lol!
