Tacoma Suspension Swap

So I'm ok with no other mods than putting the rear billstein 4600 trd off a 2015 taco that are longer than stock?

Hi all,

first, I appreciate all the info here.

i've got Taco 4wd offroad front struts/coils and rear shocks headed my way. I can't however get a hold of FJ rear springs at a decent price. What are my options? I assume keeping stock rear coils will make me nose high, and I can't find a 1/2" rear spacer, only 1.5". Are people cutting them down? Anyone know a source? What size am I really looking for?

Moog FJ springs don't fit I hear.

I found mine by posting a WTB ad on Craigslist. Also check eBay. And double check that moog info, I think I've seen pics of people running them without issue.

I haven't decided just yet, but I may have a spare set of FJ rear coils. I bought Taco coilovers for the front, but then couldn't get them apart, so I said **** it and bought OME springs for the front, and spacers for the back (for now). I haven't decided if I'm using the FJs in the back or the stock coils just yet. I can let you know in a week, lol.

I can tell you from experience you will have to grind the Moog spring a little to get them to seat properly. I did mine about two months ago. Wasn't too bad but I understand when some people would be hesitant about it. Other than that they have been great.

Ended up picking up the Moog's, we'll see how it goes. hope to get them in next weekend

Seems like some are fitting for people and some aren't. I also heard chopping a half inch off the length of the bottom coil works. (you've essentially moved up to a larger part of the coil)
 
To utilize the 2015 rear trd shocks i got I changed the lower bushing, put huge washer behind and in front of the bushing so it could move around (lower) then I had go get a 1.5 inch rear coil spacer so it road good again.. if not for the spacer on the spring your ride will not fully extend the shock and it will ride crappy... my 2 cents and mY experience

Found a few 2016 Tacoma sets for sale on craigslist for decent prices. Of course an FJ coil will need to be purchased as well. Curious to know if anyone knows if the 2016s will work?

My setup is FJ rear springs with 0.5in trim spacers for something like 1in actual lift - I'm happy with the ride. But now I'm thinking about actual 2in lift springs. Do you think the shocks can take that?

Well I have stock springs and 1.5 spacer, shocks ride so much better, Idk if they'll work with 2 inches of lift though. Might mess them up

Really like the look of yours. Do you know the measurements for your front vs rear?

I'm noticeably nose high with my lift, and I think I'm pushing my UCAs too much. I'm planning to replace my 2.5 / 1.5 spacers (4.5/2.75 overall w/ suspension) with only ~0.75" spacers up front (2.75 / 1.5 overall).

Yours looks a little rear-high. Maybe it's just the picture, but I'm wondering if mine would turn out similar. How does it look in real life?

And you post says 265/17/17 tires. Did you mean 265/70/17?

The difference front to rear came out to be ~1" higher on the rear when I measured right after the lift. There was a 1.75" difference front to rear on the stock suspension so it's more leveled out but still has some positive rake like it had from the factory. This setup yielded 1.75-2" on the front and about .875" in the rear for me. The BFG KO tires are 265/70/17 and that added about another inch to the ground -> fender measurement.
