Tacoma Texas Edition Rims on 5th Gen 4Runner

Greetings 4Runners,

I sold my 11' 4Runner and we just bought my wife a 15' SR5. We installed an Icon stage 2 lift already. I decided we wanted to install the Texas edition Tacoma wheels made by Ultra on it. They are listed as 17x8 18mm offset. When they arrived special order from the Toyota dealership, they showed it was a +18mm offset. My friend at discount tire said the factory rims on the SR5 are +12.

Has anyone installed these rims on a 4Runner? I've usually gone 0 offset all the way up to -20mm offset on my 11' 4Runner.

Thoughts, pictures or ideas?

What backspacing are these? 5th gen OEM wheels are 4.5", 2nd gen Taco (and 4th gen 4runner) are 5.25" backspacing. Good to know they are made by ultra. Might pick up a set for my 4th gen. Don't forget to post some installed pics!

You can place the rim on(blanket of some kind)its face,place a flat piece of wood or something across the rim so it is resting on each end of the wheel. Measure from inside of the wheel from where it would contact the rotor up the the bottom edge of the piece of wood. This will give you the backspace or an idea of what it is.

Wouldn't a +18mm offset on an 8" rim equate to roughly right at 5.25 backspacing? 8" rim divided by 2 = 4" and the 18mm offset puts it right at 5.25". Backspacing is just the measurement from inside of wheel edge to back of center where lug holes are. Offset is simply taking 1/2 wheel width and applying the positive or negative offset difference to that number.

Means they are going to sit further under the truck than my countersteer type x wheels that are 8" with 4.1" backspacing or -10mm offset.
