Tail gate help

For a 2010 any help pulling the tailgate down ? My mom loves the truck but has an extremely difficult time pulling the tailgate down. Anything automatic or???

Put some weight like a couple of small sand bags inside the door along the bottom and it would probably work.
I have about 5 lbs of sound deadener in mine and it's much lighter and almost balanced.

I'm going to assume she's not tall enough? My 3rd gen has a strap that you can grab and pull down on where the 5th gen just has the grab handles at the bottom.
I actually find my 3rd gen hatch harder to close than the 5th gen. Probably because the 3rd gen door is a heavier steel.
If you could fasten some kind of nylon strap to the inside of the door, that might help or the suggestions the guys before might work. At least you now have some suggestions you can try.
 
Try having the dealer check the gate shocks for leaks.

Mine started like that and ended up blowing out to where the door would just slam shot without any support.

After they replaced the shocks, opening and closing it now is a breeze.
