Taking a 1,300 mile trip... What should I check before I leave?

2011 SR5, 43,000 miles.
We just got her a month ago. I have yet to really get my hands on her. I am pulling it into the garage tonight to do a once-over.
My list:
-Checking tire pressure
-Checked front brakes, they were fine...I imagine the rear are, too.
-Grease the propeller zerk
-I wanted to change the diff oil, just not sure if I can find the 75 w85 Redline Oil
-Check trans oil... I can't find dip stick. I have the TSB Shudder from first to second, which is going to be addressed when we get back. Thanks to these forums, I was able to see that Toyota will replace the transmission if the symptom is reproduced
-Engine oil looks great, just not sure when it was done last

Any other thing I should look over? Thanks!

I have a '12 TE with 47K. It will be 2 years old in December and I take 1.3K trips all the time lol. I check the coolant level in the plastic tank, oil (standard change is every 10K so you probably had it changed 3K ago) and tire pressure religiously. Transmission is sealed and 100K before fluid change and diffs will get changed, THE FIRST TIME, at around 60-75K. I do not know more about this vehicle than the engineers who designed therefore I will follow their maintenance plan. Some here apparently know quite a bit more than the Toyota engineers so they change fluids all the time.

And.....I forget it's exact name but there is a tape that is used in case one of your hoses leaks.

No need to change the diff oil, you will not find a dip stick for checking trans oil...there is none. Fill your wiper fluid if needed, do as others have said and enjoy.

The service eng light will illuminate at 4,500 miles from last oil change. You can reset the light or drive with it on until service is due/done.

The 5th gen is a great road trip vehicle. Very reliable.
 
I just finished a trip from Virginia Beach to Dallas and back, I got mostly horrible gas mileage compared to you.

The best mileage was from mixing 1/4 a tank of Costco regular 87 octane gas with a BP brand 89 octane ethanol free gas. I got 22.93 mpg from that tank, mostly at speeds in the low to mid 70's. Air conditioning was on, and outside temps were in the mid 80's

The next tank, also a BP station, 87 octane, barely got 17 mpg. I then basically hovered around 17-19 mpg the rest of the trip down and driving around Texas.

Same mileage on the way back until I found another BP station that had ethanol free 89 octane. Filled up an almost empty tank there and got 22.4 mpg out of that gas.

My truck only had 5k miles on it at the start of the trip, so maybe my mileage will get better once I have more miles on it. I did get the oil changed at 5k, even though my dealer did not recommend it, I just did not like the look of the oil at 5k.
