Thanks JA. I thought about doing that one, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like it's a function that I'm often glad the car does have, even though I do on occasion find it annoying. Someday, I might work out an improvement on your mod that connects the disabling to a switch, but it's a low priority compared to some of the other mods I need to do sooner for more urgent functional reasons.
Speaking of which -- are you selling pre-built modules for Anytime Backup Camera and/or the Nav Video/Anytime Backup Camera? I'd really like to get my hands on an Anytime Backup Camera module. I don't think I need the nav video for now. Maybe when my kids are older and I finally cave in on my insistence that they enjoy the great outdoors and not get consumed by a screen on their seat. But for now, I run video for the front passengers off an iPad Air mounted using a professional Joy Factory seat bolt mount and through AV system and that's good enough. But the anytime backup camera function is probably very high on my list of next mods since it'd be quite helpful in a lot of situations. Towing being one, but many for sure. I'm a software engineer, not a mechanic or electrician. So it's a big enough (and rewarding!) challenge for me to install these modules, but I'm in no position to begin assembling circuit boards on my own.
