Depends on your lifestyle and intended goals/activities for the truck.
Most would say that tires are the best first upgrade to improve performance (off-road).
I would consider husky or weather tech floor liners throughout (especially in the winter season).

I have 28K on my old 2013 Trail and still glad I bought it, no problems and great off-road. Take your time on the mods as posted above and take it out and enjoy it.
I have a Bilstein 5100 level, Husky liners and nFab steps for mods, enough for now. Waiting for the #@$% OEM tires to wear out to add ATs.

I am still astounded at resale values on these 4 runners. Your '13 is probably close to 3 years old with 27k and it was $30,000!!

Take that baby to the carwash ASAP and get all that east coast salt crap washed off/out from under it. 
Nice Truck, Man. I would have bought that truck if it was on the market in December. I bought a '15 TEP instead and I'm totally pumped on it - I like the looks of the '10-'13's better, but I couldn't pass up the soft tex (and struggled paying $30k+ for a used car - damn these cars hold there value!).
I'm gonna say X2 on weathertech or Husky mats - I went with the Husky mats since they have more coverage and are less slippy. My .02.

It's crazy. There are similiar trucks around here for 5-6 grand more, just a hair below original MSRP. Mine sold for 42k in '13.

Any more info on this? I'm so paranoid of my 4R rusting out. I bought a '09 Taco TRD from Burlington VT and it had a lot more rust on it that I was comfortable with.
What's your method for application - care to share how you use it?
Trail Edition Premium - '14 -'15 package...has a sunroof, heated seats and softex upholstery.

well, some precautionary paranoia isn't a bad thing, but at least the 4Runner hasn't had the same frame rot recalls that've plagued the Taco (and Tundra).
i've only used the aerosol cans myself. you can get a case shipped to your door for a reasonable enough price if you put them in your Amazon cart and wait for a price drop. the cans are easy to work with and target specific areas, and you can also buy a snap-on nozzle that'll help disperse it inside the frame rails. i have a friend who just puts his up on ramps and uses an old Wagner Power Painter to go to town. it's way cheaper by the gallon.
note: try not to get it on your exhaust, and be aware that it's a lanolin wool wax base and it has a really weird smell that will dissipate after a couple days but it can be pretty overpowering/gross at first.

Hey guys, pumped to take delivery of my first 4runner this week.
'13 Trail, 27k miles, Yota-certified, 30 Grand
Any pro tips on what I should change or upgrade right out of the gate?
Decent experience at Boch Toyota in Norwood MA.
The TIRES to Goodyear Duratracs, the antenna to a Pilot stubby, and weathertechs for sure. Look at builds and see what you like.
