I recently accidently used a Quick Detailer on the metal spoiler part on the rear of my 98 4runner. I kind of forgot that the QD had some wax in it, and it left a white stain on the metal spoiler. I HOPE this will come off because it looks pretty bad... I attached some pics to show you all what i am talking about. Hopefully someone can help me out here with something to get this off..i have already tried soap, window cleaner, and things like that. I dont know what is safe to use. PLEASE someone help me here...it looks pretty bad as you can see.....

by the time i got your reply it was already dark here but i decided to try out the peanut butter method anyways... It seems like it worked!!! it is hard to tell because its dark, but i will look tomorrow morning and post pics of the results! so far so good with the peanut butter though...who would have thought! thanks

I have always heard that dawn or a strong dish detergent removes all wax from paint. I don't see why it would not do the same for painted metal. I wash my car with dawn before I detail it every year. I can tell the difference in in the paint once it has been washed with dawn.

This is true, Dawn is used to cut through Carnuba wax. When you are going to use Zaino, you have to use Dawn to strip the old wax off before using the Zaino. So in theory, it may help to take it off. If the wax has stained it though, it might not help. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

peanut butter worked!
peanut butter worked great!! It took off all the wax that had been on the metal for over a month..... and left it looking black again. I posted a pic that i took on my cell phone so its awful quality (sorry). The metal is really black again, although the pic makes it look dull and yellow its not. Thanks for the help!!!
