If you run into remote puncture prone areas, consider the size of tires that your friends run. 2+ spares are better than just 1.
What are you using the truck for?
If you wheel, my recommendation would be to look at a 255... it's become my preferred size over the years.
People call them skinny buy I don't feel like they are... they work well and weigh less with the thought being smaller contact patch = more PSI on the available contact patch = more grip.
These trucks already feel like slugs and the bigger fatter tires in larger diameters only make it worse… and without gearing it’s starts to get a bit annoying.

I ran KO 265/70s for 100k miles, have 60k miles on my KO2 275/70s and plan on going with 285s next spring. You guessed it....KO2s. Can’t decide if I want to go with 285/70 or 285/75.
These are 275s on my truck.

I’m thinking about going with a 255/75 17 but concerned about how much they will protect a 7.5” wide wheel. Thoughts?

So what is your opinion of them? Good, Bad, Ugly?
I'm teetering between 275s or 255s.Absolutely LOVE the look.
The 285’s do make my drivetrain a little irritated with me.
Gas mileage took a dump, but hard to quantify that number with the 265 to 285 math.
I love them, but if I was advising a friend, I’d say go for 275s. For casual upgraders, I’d say just stick with 265s.
