Tapping In Motor

hi i have a 95 sr5 4x4 v-6 3.0 with 124k runs great but at a light stoped with window down you here a light motor tap like valves, do you ever adjust them???any help would be great thanks in advance

What you might be hearing are the fuel injectors. I hear it on most Toyotas and Hondas.

you maybe right the 87 did not have fuel injection but it had adjustable lifters which probably needed an adjustment. The trucks now are not adjustable they are Hydraulic.

i believe i have been hearing the same noise, does it sound like a fan spinning with a card glued to the end of it and every rotation it hits something? i must have sat looking at my running engine for hours trying to figure this out....

I guess that would be the sound like a light ticking noise. Just turn up the radio 40K don't get you much anymore.

my mom brought a 03 camry v6 and there was a knocking noise in the engine when we serviced it techs couldn't figure it out when the car was on the verge of being lemoned they ended up changing the engine but the dam noise got louder as time went bye after they replaced the engine there was no more noise to bad a month later the car was destroyed in an accident

truck is in over great shape for a 95 model sr5 v-6 4x4 5spd all options but leather.
but it sucks gas like crazy but idles smooth, i will give it a complete tuneup that should help

I mean ticking! Tapping is bad news and don't even get me started about rattling~~~ I think you should buy a FORD then all your problems will be solved!!!

Engine Tick

Those noises are typically called pinging. Try using a little better gas. If you use 87 try 89 (or whatever the rating are in your area). This very typically solves the issue. If not, when was the last time you changed your spark plugs? Try these, I bet one of them will take care of the pinging.

Good lord...Its the fuel injectors all 3.0L have it and loud. This has been disscused before.
