Tazer's 06 V8 Build Thread

Fresh buy! 06 V8 SR5 with 245K KMs.

Weekend after the buy up on the FSRs:

Month-ish later I added BlueSea USB charge ports (2.4a each)

A week after that, new tires. Upgraded from the ones it came with (265/70R16) to a set of Maxxis Bighorns in 265/75R16. No rubbing at all, fit perfectly:

Some more pics for the between times, oh also I removed the running boards.

Since those pics, not a whole lot. Added a real nice kenwood deck (DMX9706S) and put my sub in finally. Nice to have wireless android auto, though it can be a bit buggy.

Next plans are to plasti-dip the chrome away, and get some smoked headlights going on. Gotta replace the drivers headlight housing side since the lens is borked from the inside. hwell:

Looks awesome! Great start to the build and I can't wait to see where you take the rig. Nice deck! looks like a 9905S or 6S?

Whew! Been a while eh?

I got some stuff done since the last post, blacked out the lights:

Found a cheap gobi ladder so figured why not:

Probably gonna be finishing off the ol' frontrunner rack soon too!

Repairs that I've done since the last post:

Drivers CV axle
Somehow I lost a pin on the drivers side brake caliper, solved a very loud clunk with that.

Need to readjust my parking brake, it was dragging and got suuuper hot on a camping trip in the summer, so I backed it way off and haven't gotten to it yet.

More stuff has happened! A whole pile actually!

Finished the roof rack - ish. The existing bars were too long to fit with the full kit, I guess FrontRunner sells a part kit thats just for an RTT. Oh well, Ill pick up the extra rails when I feel like it, it works fine for now.

Finally lifted! Fox 2.0 coilovers & rear struts, SPC uppers, and Mevotech lowers!

The shop I brought it to painted the frame at the same time as they installed the lift, looks so good!

Ohhh man its getting there! Camping this weekend for BC day so I'll be sure to give it a good run and get some more pics. I love this thing.
