Did the Tundra Brake Upgrade the other night, and wow, the difference is AWEOME! If you haven't done it, you need to move it up the list.
I ran into a fit issue on one of the calipers, and I thought I'd pass it along.
I bought the calipers from 2 different Advance Auto parts stores. First reason was so I could get max value out of online coupons and second, when selecting store pickup, it was an availability issue.
One of the calipers was remanufactured and it fit great, however I do not think the other was. The casting was off, and when I installed the caliper, the rotor was off center and touching one side preventing the wheel from turning. It was late, the truck was already taken apart so returning it was not an ideal option.
I ended up taking my cutoff wheel and shaving the casting down to get the clearance needed. I actually had to split the caliper to get the tool in there for a clean cut. I should have taken some pics, but we were trucking right along and I didn't think to stop.
Another thing I did, I'm not sure if they were miss labeled, but the bleeders were facing down or were on the bottom, where the 4runner's were facing up or on the top. So I just swapped sides and everything was golden.
