Yet another TBU, yet another report of soft pedal feel. Always wondered if this could just be remedied by swapping the master as well.
Would make sense if you need to move a larger volume of fluid. Is there a bigger direct fit master available?
I've always thought the brakes were adequate on my '97 SR5, but I don't tow.
The corresponding Tundra master should bolt right up if I'm not mistaken. I believe a few have gone the extra mile and done it but it's certainly less than a handful for whatever reason
ok...so this new to me highlander...history is very very limited. i wonderd why brakes were soft, twisting wrenches today.....
someplace....somehwere...sometime someone did a TBU brake upgrade....score
and at one time someone really liked and did mild mods to this rig....

is it the 231mm or the 199mm? Perhaps soft pedal can be remedied with a rebuild of the MC and more brake bleeding
which tundra master ? I was under the impression that there was not a simple bolt on one without changing the booster too
but im open for ideas
Which of the TBU calipers does your Hilander have? If I am not mistaken there are 2 types. Ones that are the same size rotor except the rotors are wider. Or the ones that require the 17 inch wheels with the larger rotor diameters.
Anyways, if you have leaking wheel cylinders. I change those and bleed the system well. Then adjust the back brake shoes up. Might just fix up your softer pedal.

Pretty sure it’s the t100 brake master.. if you go on opt offroads IG page in his saved stories one of them is the t100 master upgrade. It looked like a decent amount of work, he had to shorten the shaft that connects to the brake pedal and also had to install it upside down.
