TBU Wheel grind probs? Done it?

I have the original 16" 6-spoke aluminum wheels; I'm tired of warped rotors, so I plan to go with the 13WL (231 mm) calipers. Any recommendations on spacers--how much clearance is required?

1/4" is enough. Just know that once you put spacers the wheels become lug-centric and can go out of balance. Unless you plan on putting on larger spacers that actually extend the wheel hub like Spidertrax which are normally 1" to 2" spacers.

Y'all are crazy. Either buy wheels that clear the brakes or don't bother with this mod. I'd take smaller brakes before I ever took a grinder to my wheels or brake calipers. I've seen the aftermath of each one gone wrong and you don't want either one, trust me.

Change your driving style and the "tiny" 15" wheel brakes are more than adequate for bring even the heaviest built 4runner on 35's to a stop.

Thanks all; great discussion! it looks as though Spidertrax brings it back to hub-centric--problem solved...except for the "backordered" issue.
