TE - why no 3rd row seat

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Why no 3rd row seat option on the TE? Any mechanical reason, or simply because the market for the TE is limited and it doens't make economical sense (this is my suspicion)?

I own a 4th gen t4r sr5, thinking of upgrading to a 5th gen, and it would be nice to have the 3rd row seat option in a pinch.

Hi, I'd imagine it's because they view the other models as generally being more attractive for someone looking for a family SUV, so yes! it doesn't make sense for them to carry the expense of providing additional options on the TE that 99.99% of customers won't want. People looking for a 3rd row seat with a locking rear diff and KDSS are likely in the minority.

There's no way of knowing for sure, but I'm guessing it's due to lack of demand for such an option on a Trail Edition. Especially since the sliding cargo deck was a common feature.

your post was useless and you misspelled unaccommodating. I think Beakerbox hit the nail on the head

And, your equally useless post wasn't started with a capital letter. But, this thread isn't about grammar, or the lack thereof. Seriously, have you sat back there for longer than 5 minutes? The amount of space you lose compared to what you gain isn't worth it IMO. With that said...the Trail should come with the option of a third seat; same as the others. No clue why Toyota decided to omit it from that model; even as a special order.
