Can we get some pictures of the 5,000K and 6,000K kits from DDM?
Just buy yours already! You already know how to install them!
Do you have to disable the DRLs in order to use HIDs?
yes sir
what does everyone mean by a retrofit housing? thats the only part that is confusing me about HIDs, I'm looking to get a kit soon.
Thanks for the explanation quicksilvr. So you can buy a retro fit housing in addition to the HID kit for a better controlled light path, where do you get those?
well that explains why not many people do it then, lol.Only way to do a retrofit is either doing it yourself or getting someone here to do it for you. Lots of labor/parts required if you're doing it yourself. Either way its gonna be a lot of $$. (in the 500-700 range from what I've read)
Do you have to disable the DRLs in order to use HIDs? If not, is it recommended to disable the DRLs?
False. I'm runnin' HID and I haven't disabled mine yet.

Any problems with putting the ddm's in my 96 headlights?
Any problems with putting the ddm's in my 96 headlights?
The only problem I had on my '97 was getting the damn metal wire bracket around the bulb. Borrow a pair of small hands to bend it a little!
EDIT: Rockslide, tahts a VERY clean install. Well done!!
There is a large rubber seal on the back of the head light from the factory. Is that removed in the installation of these kits?
I am not seeing a good way to keep it on the head;light and install these new bulbs.
When I helped install a pair of the HIDs we had to cut the rubber boot to make it go back on there.
