Tell me why it's a bad idea to set my 5100's on different notches

I'm running the Tundra 5100's with the eibach springs set on the 2nd perch and I've had a alignment and the springs have 2 to 3 thousand miles on them now so everything is settled in. My problem is even with a empty gas tank ( fuel light on ) I have 1/2" driver side lean . Hub to fender measurements are driver side 22 3/4" passenger side 23 1/4" . I actually like the lower side , so it seems like my options are 1 pull out both sides and drop them to first perch and add a 1/4" top out spacer to the driver side or 2 drop the passenger side to the first perch . Off hand 2 seems like a bad idea because having different amounts of preload on the springs might make the 4Runner handle weird or would it ? It seems each notch changes the lift about 5/8" so with gas in the tank and my heavy rear end in the drivers seat it would sit about level .

You can have it set on different notches to compensate for the lean. On my coilovers, my driver side is turned up exactly 5/8" higher (measuring the exposed threads on the shock body) then the passenger side to level out the ride height. SS has also stated that this was fine to do to level out the passenger-driver side.

Edit: if you like the lower lift measurement, i would first drop the passenger side 1 notch and see how things settle. Once things settle a bit, the driver side may Still be a little taller but will probably have a better chance of eventually leveling out more since your body weight will always be on that side.

You may also want to consider putting a trim packer on one side of the rear to help even it out on both ends of the truck.

Yep , planning on that . Was just trying to decide on ordering a trim packer or topout spacer and trim packer .

I'd vote for trying a different notch on the fronts instead of a top-out spacer, since you have the 5-notch Tundra 5100's. You wouldn't have that choice on the 3-notch 4Runner version...

Yep, I dropped the front passenger one notch and put a OME 10mm trim packer on the rear drivers . Evened up everything nicely and seemed to soften the front end a little .
