Most all dealers will tell you their inventory is selling fast right now so you better buy quick before they can't find a car for you... but it seems to be genuinely true for 5th gens right now. Buddy of mine had his jeep blow up on him recently (BIG SURPRISE THERE) and wanted a 5th gen, but couldn't get one for 2 months, so he had to settle for a grand cherokee... atleast this is the case in Colorado, I'm sure we have a higher demand for them here than anywhere else, but they still are selling quite fast.
EDIT: also, because of the Tsunami, they had a bottleneck in the manufacturing, so there seemed to be a shortage.
